Green here, back from a weekend trip to Forest Resom! Whenever I go to Forest Resom I always struggle with where to eat
This time I tried a Korean set-meal restaurant called Deulbabae, and it turned out to be a Forest Resom spot where the whole family — kids and parents alike — could eat well with its neat, well-put-together Korean menu!
Let me give you a full rundown of the basic banchan, main dishes, the savory stew, and the stone-pot rice 😉

Deulbabae menu: what to eat inside Forest Resom in Jecheon

I got a full look at the Deulbabae menu. It's a neat, clean Korean set-meal restaurant with a menu lineup that works well for everyone from grandparents to kids — it really looked like a great Forest Resom family restaurant that families come to often!
Inside Deulbabae Forest Resom Branch: mood and seating

The tables and overall atmosphere fit a Korean set-meal restaurant well — upscale yet casual, and neatly arranged. There were plenty of large tables too, so it looked great for groups or family gatherings.
What comes with the Spring Snow Table set for two

Green ordered the Spring Snow Table set for two, and more main dishes and banchan than expected filled the table neatly!

Just looking at the banchan on the table, you could tell — this place really knows how to do a proper Korean set meal! The visuals alone got me ㅠ
Side dishes, including braised kodari (half-dried pollock)

Honestly, the basic banchan lineup was insane!!! The number of side dishes that filled the table was huge, and you could feel the care put into every single one. From namul (seasoned vegetables) to braised codfish, salad, and fried items — this was a hearty, well-made spread you'd get at a proper Korean set-meal restaurant, not your average side dishes.

When the braised codfish first arrived, I thought — did I order this by mistake? But no, it comes with the set by default, and I was genuinely surprised.. wait, codfish is just... included?! And such a big, plump piece too?!!!

The codfish was so, so good ㅠㅠㅠ Properly dried to be chewy yet soft, never tough, and the balance with the clean seasoning was so good!!! Thanks to that pleasant chewiness, I think kids and parents alike could eat it comfortably too.
Stone-pot rice and doenjang stew on a tabletop burner
And of course, no Korean set meal is complete without warm, freshly cooked pot rice! What made me think this one was the real deal is that while other restaurants use stainless steel pots, Deulbabae — this Forest Resom spot — actually uses a real stone pot!

Thanks to that, out came a beautifully cooked, glossy white rice, and since it was freshly made, the smell of the rice was amazing...! The smell alone already promised deliciousness!

Then came a savory yet clean doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), and the fact that you could keep it warm on the tabletop burner was such a nice touch. The broth wasn't salty and had a clean flavor that's easy for anyone to enjoy 👍🏻
Spicy pork bulgogi: soy sauce or spicy sauce?

The spicy pork bulgogi arrives!!! You could choose between soy sauce or spicy sauce, and Green went with spicy — it wasn't too spicy, so kids could definitely eat it too.

Not a single tough bite, soft, and the seasoning soaked in so well that you could finish a whole bowl of rice with just this pork alone!
Deulbabae, the Forest Resom restaurant that nailed the spicy pork bulgogi 😉
Whole grilled mackerel at Deulbabae

And then the grilled mackerel arrives! A whole mackerel, perfectly browned and grilled ㅠㅠ how could this possibly not taste good with visuals like this ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Golden brown on the outside, moist and clean-tasting inside!

Dip it in the wasabi-soy sauce, and,,, it's so good! Clean, not greasy at all, and grilled crisp and golden — so delicious. Strongly recommend the grilled mackerel,,,!

And finally, finishing the meal with golden, savory scorched rice (nurungji) made right in the pot gives you that refreshing, settled feeling in your stomach — such a clean way to end the meal! That was the moment I realized how quickly you can eat until you're stuffed 💓
