Namwirye shabu-shabu buffet with square rice paper wraps: Dadam

In short

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and Vietnamese wrap restaurant on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza by Namwirye Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. A couple arrived at 7pm on a weekend and, despite a waiting list, were seated right away as other diners finished, then ate their way through split broth, fresh vegetables and meat, square rice-paper wraps, closing porridge and an affogato. With 3 hours of free parking at G&G Plaza, Dadam earned a 200% return-visit verdict.

I'm the duck who can't be bothered cooking on a weekend evening. 🦆 Today I'm introducing a restaurant near Namwirye Station my husband and I went to fill up: Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam. Parking was so easy that the whole trip was stress-free — here's my honest weekend review!

Parking and the weekend dinner wait at Dadam Shabu Shabu near Namwirye Station

At this Wirye shabu-shabu spot, you can just park comfortably in the building's own lot, G&G Plaza. When you pay, tell the counter and they'll register you for 3 hours of free parking — which was great because it meant we could take a walk in the nearby park after eating.

We took the elevator up to the 3rd floor store and, being a weekend, there was a waiting list and the place was nearly full. We visited around 7pm on a weekend, but luckily some diners who'd finished were leaving, so we got in without waiting at all.

How fresh is the self bar at Dadam? Turnover tells the story

At an all-you-can-eat spot like this near Wirye, you need a lot of customers and fast turnover for the ingredients to stay fresh, right? Looking at the packed dining room, the turnover was clearly good and the vegetables were super crisp haha. You can expect basically everything from basic shabu-shabu ingredients to fish balls, rice noodles, dumplings, rice cakes, and noodles of all kinds.

Compared to the shabu-shabu franchises we go to often these days(?), there might be a few types missing, but everything here is solid and reliable, and honestly, with ingredients this fresh, my husband and I actually preferred this over having tons of variety.

Partitioned tables and park-view window seats at Dadam

Ordering is simple via tablet PC, and they quickly set up the broth and the bowls for using the self bar.

Even though the place was completely full, it never felt chaotic or crowded. Every seat had plenty of space and private partitions, so it was really comfortable eating and chatting with my husband.

Since it was a weekend evening, there were especially many families visiting. If you can reserve ahead, I'd strongly recommend a window seat with the open park view, eating dinner while watching the park scenery at sunset.

Meat quality and the square rice paper for Vietnamese wraps

We picked two people's worth of shabu-shabu with two broths, then got serious about the self bar.

Even up close, not a single limp piece — fresh ingredients all the way...

Close-up of fresh, firm vegetables

With the shabu-shabu vegetables, wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice-paper wrap) ingredients, and sauces all set up, we loaded the split broth with fresh vegetables and meat and enjoyed our Wirye shabu-shabu. Even for an all-you-can-eat place, the freshness of the meat and vegetables was good enough to overwhelm the overall quality of the taste.

On top of that, the wolnamssam rice paper here is uniquely square-shaped, which made it much easier to pack in plenty of filling without the sides tearing, compared to the round kind.

Closing porridge and the affogato dessert at Dadam

I can never skip the finishing porridge... My husband snipped up rice, carrot, and minari (water dropwort) with scissors and made it with egg, seaweed, and sesame oil. Eating porridge made with broth steeped in fresh vegetables really felt like a proper weekend recharge.

For dessert, americano and ice cream are available.

Affogato made by pouring espresso over ice cream for dessert

The nutty flavor of the good-bean espresso cutting through the ice cream was genuinely delicious. It really gave that feeling of a meal fully completed.

Verdict: is Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye worth a return visit?

This visit came about through a sponsorship opportunity, but it truly felt like discovering a great new restaurant in Wirye, and I was very satisfied. Thanks to the fresh ingredients and convenient parking, my husband and I promised each other we'd definitely come back. If you're craving hot Wirye shabu-shabu one day, I'd strongly recommend stopping by Dadam Shabu Shabu!
