Where is Extra Mile in Gwangalli, and what are its hours?
Extra Mile is a pizza and pasta restaurant at 1F, 11 Suyeongro554beon-gagil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, in an alley right beside Gwangalli Beach. It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, last order at 20:00. So many great new spots have been popping up around Gwangalli lately, right? I was on the hunt for good pizza and pasta in the area when I found Extra Mile — apparently the hottest new restaurant in Gwangalli right now.
The vibe is clean and comfortable, so it wouldn't feel weird to bring a date here either — a solid pick if you're looking for a Gwangalli date restaurant.

This was my first time coming down this side alley off Gwangalli, and even though it's near the beach, being just slightly off the main street made it feel quieter and more relaxed than expected. The place is clean and the food is beautifully plated too, so it seemed like a good option for anyone looking for a Gwangalli date restaurant.
The building Extra Mile is in was really pretty, too, and honestly all the restaurants and cafés in this alley have great atmosphere, so it's a good route to grab a nice coffee afterward!

Parking right in front of the restaurant is difficult, so I'd recommend using a nearby lot. Even with no signboard, word-of-mouth has already kicked in — customers kept coming even during a slightly late lunch hour at this Gwangalli Western food spot.

Inside Extra Mile: wood tones, floor-to-ceiling windows and an open kitchen
The moment I walked into Extra Mile, what struck me was the overall clean, warm atmosphere. Everything's decorated around wood tones, so instead of feeling overly styled, it feels comfortable for a proper meal.
Light pouring in through the big windows keeps the space from feeling cramped, and plants scattered around make it feel even more relaxed.

It's an open kitchen, so you can watch the food being made — and the kitchen itself was really clean too.

Even the self-serve corner is this pretty?!

Visiting during the day meant the sunlight streaming through the windows made for a really healing time at this Gwangalli Western food spot. It genuinely felt like being somewhere overseas. There was a fig tree out front with figs hanging heavy — I wanted to pick and eat them, haha.

Crayon coloring mats while you wait at Extra Mile
Crayons are set out on the table, so while you wait for your order you can doodle little pictures on the paper place mat — a nice bit of content to earn while waiting.

What we ordered from the Extra Mile menu
Extra Mile has such a wide range of pizzas that just choosing was a challenge. Potato pizza, hot honey pepperoni, tomato pasta, white ragu pasta — you can pick based on your taste.
Pizzas can also be ordered half-and-half, so if you want to try more than one flavor, I'd recommend going that route! I ordered the Classic Combo set with pizza and pasta that day.

White ragu pasta at Extra Mile
The white ragu pasta is made with a white ragu sauce simmered from beef and pork, finished with cheese and parsley. The deep flavor from the meat was really satisfying. Even though the noodles were a wide, flat shape, the sauce clung well to them, and it tasted rich and nutty.

A flavor that genuinely makes you happy — the pasta was cooked perfectly, and it was loaded with meat, so you get plenty of protein too.
They told us to mix the white ragu pasta well before eating, so we mixed it up thoroughly.

Personally, ordering one pizza and one pasta together seems like the safest, best combo! It's known as a pizza place, but the pasta is really, really good too, so definitely order pasta as well. The white ragu pasta I had became my all-time favorite ragu pasta.

Half pepperoni, half salad pizza
Check out the visuals on this Gwangalli pizza. I ordered a pepperoni and salad half-and-half. The crust is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside — a style that anyone who loves wood-fired pizza will love.

The staff told us the salad pizza tastes better when you pick it up with your hands and eat it like a wrap, and honestly the amount of salad piled on top was so generous that you really do need to eat it that way, haha. The sauce on top of the salad was delicious too, with toppings that added texture — the tangy, salty pizza sauce, savory cheese, and plain bread combined really well.
Even though it was daytime, plenty of other tables were enjoying pizza with beer — next time I'll definitely have to try that combo myself! I'm also going to try the potato pizza next time. I agonized over it until the end — potato with truffle oil sounds like exactly the kind of thing that goes down easy with beer.

Scraping up every last bit of the white ragu pasta sauce — that's how good it was. This white ragu pasta would probably go really well with wine too.
Side dishes on offer at Extra Mile
Beyond pizza and pasta, they also have items like house salad and romesco grilled veggies, which would be great to add if you want something a bit lighter.

Found a hot sauce on the way out — didn't even need it, the food was already delicious. Not a single unattractive corner in the whole space, this Gwangalli Western food spot was full of atmosphere.

Is Extra Mile worth it for a Gwangalli date meal?
Extra Mile is in the perfect spot for a course of seeing the ocean and eating well in Gwangalli. The food overall was good, but honestly what I loved most was the atmosphere, and it made for a happy time. It was great for a slow, chatty meal, and the plating was pretty enough to photograph too.
If you're looking for something a bit different from the usual Gwangalli restaurants — a standout Gwangalli pizza spot or Western food restaurant — this is worth a visit. I'm planning to go back to try more of the pizza menu. If you're after a good-atmosphere date restaurant in Gwangalli, I recommend Extra Mile!!!
