My husband loves grilled fish, so we went out for a proper grilled fish meal together after a while. This time we visited Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch, right in front of Suyeong Station!

Grilling fish at home leaves the smell lingering for days lol, so I tend to eat grilled fish out whenever possible. While looking for a good grilled fish spot in Busan, I found a place where you can try several types of half-dried grilled fish at once, so I decided to check it out^^

Where is Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch? Hours and parking

Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch is at 699 Suyeong-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea (Dion Place 103), right in front of Suyeong Station Exit 3. Hours are Mon–Sat 11:00–22:00 (break 15:00–17:00, last order 21:00), and Sunday 12:00–17:00 (last order 16:00). Hours can change, so it's worth double-checking before you visit.

For parking, you use the Dion Place building parking lot, and based on this visit we got 1.5 hours free.

It's a mechanical parking system, so large SUVs or vans may have trouble parking depending on the vehicle size — if you're driving something big, it's a good idea to call the restaurant ahead of time.

What the dining room is like, and why it works for a meal with parents

Walking into Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch, it was much more spacious and clean than I expected. There were plenty of tables with generous spacing between them, so it seemed like a good spot for a family meal or bringing your parents along.

Most of all, I expected a grilled fish place to feel a bit smoky and smell strong, but this place was so tidy overall that it made a great first impression.

Each table had a tablet, so ordering was easy. We ordered Hanbada's signature menu, the wild-caught half-dried grilled fish set. Based on the current menu, the set for two is listed at ₩35,000, and it comes with several types of half-dried grilled fish along with a seasonal soup.

Doesn't it look generous even in photos? lol The grilled fish comes piled onto a long plate, and it's not just one kind — you get to try a variety of different fish, which I really liked.

Maybe because it's half-dried fish, the outside was grilled to a golden brown while the inside stayed moist with a chewy texture still intact. It felt totally different from just plain grilled fish!

Each fish had a slightly different softness and nuttiness, so it was fun trying them one by one. Piling a big chunk of fish onto a spoonful of rice was seriously the best. So for anyone looking for a good grilled fish spot in Busan, I think a set like this is exactly right.

Side dishes at Hanbada and the makgeolli tasting pour

The side dishes that came with it were more varied than expected.

They also gave us a taste of makgeolli (Korean rice wine)... but since we drove, I couldn't drink it ㅠㅠ I'll definitely try it next time.

From kimchi to pickled vegetables to japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), the side dishes that pair well with grilled fish came out neatly arranged, and switching between fish and side dishes made for a great combination.

And personally, what I liked just as much as the grilled fish was the clear soup that came with it! It's simmered right at the table in a pot, and it's loaded with minari and vegetables, so the broth looks really refreshing, doesn't it?

After eating the somewhat oily grilled fish, a spoonful of the hot broth cleared my palate completely, so the pairing was really good. With grilled fish, rice, and hot soup all together, it felt like a properly complete meal.

Did we pick the bones a little too enthusiastically^^ I was so happy~^^ My husband kept picking the fish apart for me haha.

Since Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch is spacious and clean, it seems like a great fit among Busan's grilled fish restaurants for anyone looking for a place to eat with parents or a family outing spot. It's also easy to get to right in front of Suyeong Station, and the biggest advantage of Hanbada Suyeong Main Branch is being able to enjoy several types of half-dried grilled fish plus a hot soup all in one sitting!
