Sangin-dong brunch café for jambon butter pasta: Otter Rabbit House

In short

Otter Rabbit House is a wood-tone brunch café in Sangin-dong, Dalseo, Daegu, near Woelgwang Waterside Park. A post-workout lunch here came to jambon butter pasta at 18,000 won, the signature castella latte at 6,200 won and an iced americano at 3,800 won, and both the thick cream pasta and the latte you spoon the cream off were satisfying. With an exterior and interior that look like an overseas restaurant, Otter Rabbit House works just as well for a date or a get-together.

Today's review is a brunch café in Sangin-dong. A while back I was working out in the area and looking for somewhere to grab a simple brunch, and I came across this place near Woelgwang Waterside Park.

It's called 'Otter Rabbit House.' They recently opened a location in downtown Daegu's Jongno as well, and apparently it's hugely popular. We had brunch pasta and coffee here, and the result: totally satisfied!

Interior atmosphere of Otter Rabbit House

The interior is another level! Out of all the brunch cafés I've been to recently, this had the best vibe. It'd be great for a date course or a group meetup too.

Otter Rabbit House menu and kiosk ordering

Ordering kiosk in the middle of the store

You order easily via the kiosk in the middle of the store. For coffee, we chose the castella latte (₩6,200) and an iced americano (₩3,800).

Since we visited around lunchtime, for the brunch menu I picked the jambon butter pasta (₩18,000).

Inside Otter Rabbit House: wood-tone interior and atmosphere

Outside view through the café's windows

This is the view outside as seen from inside the café. The windows are really so beautifully made.

Otter Rabbit House kitchen and counter area

The kitchen and counter area are so pretty too — it felt like a background you'd see in a lot of aesthetic café photos.

Freshly baked bakery items on display

The freshly baked bakery items also looked popular. I'll have to try them next time.

It's genuinely got that European restaurant vibe down. The tables in white and wood tones are so pretty too.

The fabric details on the walls and all the styling are exactly my taste! ✔️Recommended: a good-atmosphere brunch café near Woelgwang Waterside Park

How do the jambon butter pasta and castella latte taste?

Tray with jambon pasta and drinks

My jambon pasta, iced americano, and castella latte all arrived. They were served on a pretty tray, and they gave us pickles that pair well with the pasta.

Cup engraved with the Otter Rabbit House logo

Ta-da! The cup with the Otter Rabbit House logo and lettering engraved on it was so cute.

A plate of jambon butter pasta

I tried the jambon pasta first.

It's flavored with Japanese-style miso and chives, with pistachios adding a nutty crunch — that's the pasta's signature.

Cream pasta noodles topped with pistachio

First off, the noodles were so chewy, and the texture was great.

And the rich, thick cream was totally my taste! It went really well with the pasta and jambon. ✔️Recommended: a great-atmosphere brunch café and pasta spot in Dowon-dong, Daegu

Iced americano served alongside the pasta

Eating it alongside the iced americano halfway through made the flavor come alive even more!

Steaming jambon butter pasta

The freshly cooked jambon butter pasta was genuinely so good! It was still steaming, so I blew on it as I ate, and I'm craving it again already. This is a certified pasta spot near Woelgwang Waterside Park!

Visual of the signature castella latte

And then there's the 'castella latte,' the signature menu item of Otter Rabbit House in Sangin-dong — the visual alone is so pretty.

First you scoop up the castella cream on top with the dedicated spoon. It's genuinely sweet and soft cream, and eating it just lifts your mood.

Castella latte after the cream on top has been eaten

Once you've eaten the cream on top, you can just drink the latte underneath comfortably. The latte itself was delicious on its own too. ✔️Recommended: a café in Sangin-dong, Daegu with great latte

Table view after finishing the meal

We had a really delicious meal and the brunch café atmosphere was so good, so I'd definitely go back.
