Daegu family barbecue restaurant with playroom: Gogi 9dan
In short
Gogi 9dan is a charcoal-grilled meat restaurant in Buk-gu, Daegu. I had a family meal there with my mother and child, ordering a plate of hanger steak and the 9dan set; the tender meat, partitioned seating, parking, and playroom made the meal comfortable.

I had a family meal at Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch (고기9단 침산직영점) with my mother and child. We ordered a hanger steak platter and the 9dan set; my child ate the meat well, while the adults could talk and eat comfortably.

Is it convenient to drive to and sit with family?
The restaurant is at 197 Chimsannam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu. Because the building has a piloti-style structure, there was parking underneath, which felt spacious and pleasant when I visited. We could start our meal without spending time on parking.

At the entrance, I could see the chef trimming meat. Inside, the floor-to-ceiling windows made the space feel open, and the seats were well separated by partitions. It was a comfortable place for a family to talk while eating.

What did we order?
The menu included beef such as hanger steak and boneless short rib, fresh pork belly and pork neck, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), yukjeon (pan-fried battered beef), and Korean beef minari ssam-shabu. Side dishes such as marinated raw crab were also sold for takeout.
We chose the hanger steak platter and the 9dan set. The 9dan set included pork kimchi stew, Korean beef yukhoe, sushi rice, and jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles).

After we ordered, several side dishes were set on the table. They were neatly prepared and tasted good, which my mother also liked. Charcoal was then brought over, and a serving robot delivered the meat.
Did my child enjoy the charcoal-grilled hanger steak?
The hanger steak on the table was bright red with visible marbling, so I was looking forward to it even before eating. Once it went onto the hot charcoal grill, it gave off a savory aroma.

I had the first piece lightly dipped in salt, then ate the next one with crisp onion sauce. The meat was tender and juicy.

My child seemed to like it too and kept asking for more meat. Seeing my child eat well made me feel at ease throughout the meal.

How was the 9dan set with the meat?
The 9dan set arrived after we had been eating meat for a while. The pork kimchi stew had a pleasantly spicy kick, and the jjolmyeon was tangy. I was satisfied with the combination, since we could also eat the yukhoe and sushi rice.

How were the children’s playroom and after-meal desserts?
There was a playroom on one side of the restaurant. With an arcade machine, a candy vending machine, and more, my child happily played before and after the meal. While my child used the playroom, the adults could eat comfortably as well.

As we were finishing our meal, we were served patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) for dessert. At the dessert corner I saw on the way out, there were iced coffee, maesil tea, puffed rice snacks, and cups of ice. On this visit, the tender hanger steak, accompanying dishes, and playroom for my child made for a comfortable family meal.
