I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch in Beomeo-dong, Daegu, and ended up craving warm ramen, so I headed to Ryusenso Beomeo Branch.
It's a Japanese ramen restaurant near Suseong-gu Office Station that serves Fukuoka Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth ramen). Their signature is a broth simmered for hours from pork bones, which seemed perfect for anyone who loves a rich, deep ramen.
That day I ordered the basic Ryusenso with a spicy twist — Ryusenso Kara — plus katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) on the side.

Ryusenso Beomeo Branch is right near Suseong-gu Office Station, so it wasn't hard to find. The exterior gives off a proper Japanese ramen shop vibe, so it caught my eye from a distance — a solid spot if you're wandering around looking for a place to eat.
Inside: a spot that works well for solo dining

Walking in, the interior felt clean and casual overall. The wood-toned design with a touch of Japanese style gave it that distinct ramen-shop atmosphere.

There's bar seating and single seats, which looked really convenient for solo diners. Great if you want to grab a quick lunch by yourself.
What's on the ramen menu

Ryusenso's lineup ranges from the classic tonkotsu Ryusenso to the spicy Ryusenso Kara, a clam-broth Ryusenso Asari, and a shrimp miso option, among others. There are also sides like katsudon, gyoza, and karaage, which pair well with the ramen.
We ended up ordering Ryusenso Kara, katsudon, and yaki gyoza that day.

Ta-da, the food arrived!
Ryusenso Kara: rich tonkotsu with a spicy kick

Ryusenso Kara! This one adds a spicy kick to the classic rich tonkotsu broth, so it seemed like a good fit for anyone who likes a bit more punch than the basic Ryusenso.

I tried the broth first — it had that thick, creamy tonkotsu character up front, with spiciness building in the background. It wasn't just all heat, though; the savory richness of the pork bone broth came through alongside the spice in a nicely balanced way.

The noodles matched the broth really well too. Usually when a ramen broth is too heavy I struggle to finish it, but the added spice actually kept me coming back for more spoonfuls haha. If you like rich tonkotsu with a hint of spice, Ryusenso Kara is worth trying.
Yaki gyoza

We also ordered yaki gyoza (pan-fried dumplings)! 🥟 The outside was golden and crispy, while the inside stayed juicy — a great match alongside the ramen.

The savory flavor of the gyoza really worked with the rich tonkotsu broth, so it was nice to have one bite of gyoza between spoonfuls. If ramen alone feels like it's missing something, I'd recommend adding yaki gyoza as a side.
Katsudon: thick loin cutlet with sweet-savory tare sauce

And the katsudon we ordered together! It's a pork cutlet rice bowl with crispy fried loin cutlet, scrambled egg, and a sweet-savory tare sauce.

The cutlet was piled on thick, so it looked pretty impressive too. The breading stayed crispy while the meat inside was tender, making it easy to eat with the rice. The sweet-savory sauce and egg on top made it much softer and more flavorful than eating the cutlet plain.
Alternating a sip of ramen broth with a bite of katsudon turned out to be a great combo. If ramen alone feels like too little, or if you're splitting dishes with someone, adding katsudon is a good call.
Overall, the restaurant was clean and the seating was set up conveniently for solo dining, making it a solid choice when looking for a good lunch spot in Beomeo-dong. Being close to Suseong-gu Office Station also made it easy to reach by subway.
I wanted something spicy that day, so I went with Ryusenso Kara, and the spiciness worked surprisingly well with the rich tonkotsu broth. Adding katsudon on top made for a really filling meal haha. If you're looking for Japanese-style ramen in Beomeo-dong or a place to eat near Suseong-gu Office Station, this is worth keeping in mind :)
