A sushi restaurant I returned to near Yeungnam University Medical Center
With the autumn breeze just starting to roll in lately, I found myself craving a delicious lunch and returned to Sushi Naru near the entrance to Yeungnam University Medical Center.

This was already my second visit. It is one of my favorite sushi places because I remembered how delicious it was after the first time and had to come back.
Even when I arrived at 1 p.m., it was full of customers. This time, I sat at the counter and got to watch the owner make the sushi right in front of me.
Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch: location and parking
Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch (스시나루 영대병원본점) sits on the main road in Daemyeong-dong near the hospital entrance, so it is not difficult to find. It is between Daemyeong-dong, Bongdeok-dong, and Yeungnam University Medical Center Station, making it a convenient place to eat after stopping by the hospital. It is also close to Yeungnam University College, so it suits students and office workers looking for lunch.

There is no dedicated parking lot, but depending on the time, you can use nearby street public parking or private paid lots. Daegu Bank's parking lot is also available after 4 p.m., so it is worth keeping that in mind before visiting.
We parked here, and it came to ₩1,800 for an hour. We could eat without worrying about it.
Freshly made aged fish sushi at the counter
Sushi Naru is not especially large inside, but it feels neat and cozy. There are three four-person tables and counter seats, so it works nicely for dining alone or for a quiet meal for two, and it is fine for a visit with family or friends too.
Sushi Naru ages its fish to serve tender, flavorful sushi and sashimi. At lunch, you can enjoy sushi and rice bowls, while dinner brings a range of dishes to have with drinks, so it seems like a nice spot for a meal and a drink as well.

Because Sushi Naru slices and prepares the fish as soon as you order, peak hours call for appreciating the wait.
More than anything, you can feel the care in watching the owner make each piece of sushi himself. Orders can pile up and bring a little wait at peak time, but when you see how carefully everything is made step by step, the waiting time makes sense.

There is a review event too. You can choose two jumbo shrimp tempura, four takoyaki, two curry croquettes, one soft drink, or two pieces of sushi, so be sure to claim it....

From sushi and rice bowls to evening dishes
Sushi is Sushi Naru's specialty, with rice bowls, katsu dishes, and set menus available too. There are also evening snack sets, so it would be a good place for a drink.

After a short wait, the salad, side dishes, and piping-hot udon arrived.

Aged fish in the Special Sushi and Premium Sushi
Today, we ordered the Special Sushi and Premium Sushi. Sushi Naru's platter sushi truly felt handmade, with care evident in every piece. The aged fish was tender and full of savory depth, and it was fun to taste the different kinds one by one.

Both the Special Sushi and Premium Sushi had varied selections and just the right amount for a satisfying lunch. With fresh ingredients and such careful handiwork, I again thought it was delicious on my second visit.

Every piece was full of care!! At this level of quality, I think it could rank at the top anywhere. Maybe this price is only possible because it is Daegu??

And the rice beneath the sushi is nice and warm. Cold rice makes sushi less tasty, but this warm rice makes it even better!!

This egg (tamago) sushi has such a pretty color~

At this point, food can become art. A happy time for the eyes and the mouth~~

This otoro sushi melts the moment it enters your mouth. Wow! The world of gourmet food~~ It is generously thick too, giving it a wonderfully substantial bite.

The owner and staff were kind too, so I could enjoy my meal in a really pleasant mood.

The flounder sushi (hirame sushi) was so fresh too~ That fresh feeling sushi lovers will recognize!!
A Daemyeong-dong sushi lunch worth returning for
On a day with a gentle autumn breeze, walking out after a delicious plate of sushi at Sushi Naru made for a modest but truly happy lunchtime.
If you are looking for sushi near Apsan or a good sushi restaurant in Daemyeong-dong near Yeungnam University Medical Center, I would recommend Sushi Naru for its carefully made aged fish sushi. It is a Daemyeong-dong sushi spot you may find yourself returning to after one visit, just like I did.
