I heard there was an upscale, staff-grilled BBQ place in Bongmyeong-dong, so I checked it out. It's Anmin, a well-known restaurant in Cheongju's Bongmyeong-dong — popular enough to have a second branch in Yulryang-dong, and the meat was really good. My family had a genuinely satisfying meal here after a while!

Anmin Cheongju Bongmyeong-dong branch exterior and parking

Anmin has two branches — one in Bongmyeong-dong and one in Yulryang-dong. We visited the Bongmyeong-dong location this time. Only about 3–4 cars can park in front of the building, so we parked in a nearby alley.
Interior mood and semi-private room
You feel the upscale vibe the moment you walk in! When we arrived the place was nearly full, and by the time we left there was even a waitlist. That's how popular this Bongmyeong-dong restaurant is.

There's a waiting area on the left. Having an indoor waiting space makes for a more comfortable wait...!

The inside of Anmin Bongmyeong-dong is dim and has an upscale feel. The tables are big and the space is spacious, so it felt comfortable.

There's also a semi-private room in the back, which seems perfect for business dinners. I'd recommend booking that room in advance. There really were a lot of groups having dinners there. A staff-grilled BBQ place that's also this clean — highly recommend for a Bongmyeong-dong group dinner spot! ☑️

There's a tablecloth laid out, and they counted guests one by one. Anmin, a Bongmyeong-dong BBQ restaurant that's clearly had many customers! I also read through Anmin's brand story and their tips for enjoying the meal.
Menu lineup

The à la carte meat menu includes whole pork belly, whole pork neck, a special cuts assortment, pork skin, and pork jowl, and you can also choose whole or half sets. Sides include a variety of options like stew and ramen. There's also a wide selection of drinks — regular liquor, table cocktails, and highballs — so you can pair different drinks with the meat 🍹

You can press a call button to easily request side dish refills, extra cutlery, and more. There were even options for sauce explanations and commemorative photos, which was fun!
Basic side dishes and seven sauces
The basic table setting was really clean. The side dishes and sauces were neatly gathered on a tray. The table was spacious, and since it's grilling service, the grill pan sits off to one side, so the tabletop never feels cluttered — a relaxed meal was possible. The water was nutty roasted barley tea, which was nice too!

The basic side dishes were seasonal pickles, well-fermented green onion kimchi, washed kimchi with yuzu-pickled radish, cabbage salad, barley ssamjang (dipping sauce), and lettuce wraps. And there were so many sauces — pine flower salt, curry bean powder, cumin, shiitake wasabi, cooked hairtail intestine jeotgal (salted seafood), fish sauce, and cheese fondue sauce — seven kinds in total 👏 Both the side dishes and the sauces were genuinely all delicious...

It also helps to check the sauce and side dish guide placed on the table!

The charcoal looked great, and especially the grill pan — it's a special one made in-house by Anmin, so you get a distinctive grilling experience.
Whole pig set (700g), ₩64,000

A 700g whole pig set with raw whole pork belly + raw whole pork neck + raw special cut (nakyeopsal) + herbal pork skin — great for 3–4 people to share! There were three of us, so this is what we ordered.

Anmin is a Bongmyeong-dong BBQ restaurant where staff grill everything from start to finish. Not having to worry about whose turn it is to grill makes this a top candidate for a group dinner spot!! It was also nice being with family, since we could just relax and talk.

Since it's a whole cut of pork, getting the doneness just right can be tricky, but the staff grilled it perfectly, making it even more enjoyable. A few cherry tomatoes, eggplant, king oyster mushrooms, and garlic scapes came out too.
Once the meat is fully grilled, they place it on a mini brazier. The gentle heat keeps it warm while you eat.

How the pork neck and pork belly tasted
The pork neck had an outstanding savory, clean flavor. Being a whole cut, it was thick but still tender, which I loved. The pork belly was chewy and savory, with just the right fat ratio — really delicious! My family, eating genuinely great meat after a while, was thoroughly satisfied at this Bongmyeong-dong BBQ restaurant in Cheongju 🖤

For the first bite, dipping it in salt to taste the meat's natural flavor is great, and after that I tried various sauces to my taste. The hairtail intestine jeotgal wasn't fishy at all, and it was fine, and the cheese fondue sauce was sweet and savory in a way that kept pulling me back!

Special cut: nakyeopsal
The special cut, nakyeopsal, had a springy, chewy texture and a great savory flavor — genuinely delicious! I almost wanted to order the special cuts assortment separately...

There were no unnecessary side dishes — all of them paired well with the meat, and they tasted great too, so my hand kept reaching for more.

Herbal pork skin
The pork skin especially was really delicious. It's herbal pork skin flavored with various medicinal herbs — the subtle herbal aroma was appealing, and the chewy, springy yet soft texture was so good!!

Dipping it in the bean powder doubled the savory flavor! You can get a free plate of herbal pork skin for writing a receipt review, so if you love pork skin, definitely take part ✔️
Summary
With its upscale atmosphere and grilling service, Anmin is a Bongmyeong-dong BBQ restaurant in Cheongju that's perfect for a group dinner. Between the clean table setting and the quality meat, it was a satisfying meal at this Cheongju Bongmyeong-dong restaurant ✨
