Seocho Korean restaurant Naegohyang Jeju's grilled silver hairtail abalone hot pot set and hanchi mulhoe

A gathering of us four friends who hadn't met in almost a year! Naegohyang Jeju's Korean food was a perfect match for my friends' tastes.

A Jeju-style Korean restaurant on the basement floor near Naebang Station Exit 7
Grilled hairtail, braised fish, abalone hot pot, hanchi mulhoe — Naegohyang Jeju's Bangbae Seorae branch brought back all the memories of eating so well (and gaining weight, haha) whenever I go to Jeju!
It's located near Naebang Station Exit 7. It's on the basement floor, with two entrances to choose from.

Jeju vibes hit you before you even walk in
You get that Jeju feeling before you even step through the door.
Once inside, the interior genuinely feels like somewhere in Jeju haha. My friends picked this place and thanks to them I got to feel the mood ㅋㅋ.

A table set by nature
Healthy, delicious Korean food — I was excited even before eating 😍

We came during a quieter time, avoiding the lunch rush of nearby office workers, so we could chat comfortably and enjoy our meal without any crowd noise.
There are also separate rooms, so you can book for group gatherings, dinners, or family meals!

If you love grilled fish, braised dishes, and hot pot rice, head to Bangbae-dong ☝️
The menu at Naegohyang Jeju's Bangbae Seorae branch

The Jeju grilled silver hairtail abalone hot pot set is ₩36,000, and hanchi mulhoe is ₩28,000. We ordered two servings of the grilled hairtail abalone hot pot set!
Before long, they set out a neat and generous spread of side dishes — fresh vegetables, greens, salad.

Our big-eater friend cleaned her plate of abalone hot pot with these banchan too, haha.
Jeju grilled silver hairtail, sliced tableside
The Jeju grilled silver hairtail came out last, already grilled, and the staff sliced it for us right at the table so it was easy to eat.
The hairtail was quite large with a lot of meat! The banchan spread was even more varied than what I remember eating in Jeju, and the hairtail itself was excellent 💫
Grilled hairtail that's easy to eat without wrestling with bones ❤️

What made the meal feel even warmer was the staff's kindness and smiles 🩷🩷 This is a place I'd love to bring my parents to!

Good seaweed soup spots feel rare these days, but this rich, deep broth was so good I finished it before anything else, haha.

Hanchi mulhoe — plenty even for three
The hanchi mulhoe (squid cold noodle soup) came in a huge portion too. Plenty even for the three of us! It just kept coming no matter how much we ate ㅋㅋㅋ. Tangy and refreshing, it cooled off the midday heat and instantly perked up our appetite. The hot, crispy sweet potato fritters kept getting picked at too, even after we were full.
The afternoons are still scorching hot with the sun beating down. I already miss that hanchi mulhoe...

A few drops of perilla oil on abalone hot pot
I discovered the magic of perilla oil at Naegohyang Jeju 💓 They told us to mix a bit of perilla oil into the abalone hot pot rice, and the nutty, savory flavor was an eye-opener ㅋㅋ. I actually became a perilla oil fan now... I never knew a few drops of perilla oil on freshly cooked warm rice could taste this good, haha. The abalone had an even more moist texture too, and it was uniquely delicious! My friends kept saying it was so good, and we all ate until we were full 🥰

Bangbae-dong Korean restaurant with a lunch special for office workers
It had been so long since we all got together, and having delicious, healthy food made the reunion even richer 💓 I was pretty scattered that day, but my friends were so understanding about it 🥹
Naegohyang Jeju, a Korean restaurant in Bangbae-dong, also has a separate lunch special menu, so a lot of nearby office workers come here too. The longer you sit at a desk, the more you need healthy, clean Korean food — a table set by nature — to manage your diet.
What stood out most about Naegohyang Jeju's Bangbae Seorae branch was the staff's warmth. It seems like a place you could bring anyone and have them leave happy ^^
