Why I booked scalp care at a Gangseo-dong hair salon for seborrheic scalp dermatitis
I got scalp care done at Salon Of Gangseo Branch, a hair salon in Gangseo-dong, Cheongju. I booked through Naver Reservation with Designer Doa and went in.
Hi everyone~! I have seborrheic dermatitis, you know? So when I use a shampoo that doesn't suit my scalp, it turns red and blotchy, gets itchy, and flakes up so much that people have mistaken it for dandruff — which made me sad sometimes 🥲 (I'm not dirty….)
I wandered from shampoo to shampoo for a long time because of my scalp, and once I finally found one that worked for me, it turned out to be pretty pricey^^ (my body requires a lot of financial investment 🥺)
And it gets even worse in summer once I start sweating ㅠㅠ My scalp condition literally leads to stress!! So for my scalp that's been suffering from the hot sun, I went to get scalp care at the Gangseo-dong hair salon 'Salon Of Gangseo Branch'~

Salon Of Gangseo Branch: location, parking and hours
For parking at Salon Of Gangseo Branch, you can use the underground lot behind the building, and they give you a parking discount voucher after your care is done. The lot wasn't cramped and there was plenty of space. No need to worry about parking haha

Salon Of Gangseo Branch is located on the 2nd floor of the building. When you get off the elevator, go left and you'll find the entrance.

Salon Of Gangseo Branch is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00. Keep that in mind if you're planning to visit~

Inside the salon: a second-floor space with no chemical smell
Salon Of Gangseo Branch has a modern, clean atmosphere with sunlight coming in through the windows, so it feels bright~ A lot of salons have that lingering chemical smell that can give you a headache, but Salon Of Gangseo Branch had none of that harsh smell at all, so it felt fresh and pleasant. That was the point where I felt the salon was well managed!

I told the front desk I had a reservation, and since I arrived earlier than my appointment time, I waited in the waiting area. The waiting area was spotless too! The whole place felt clean overall.

They also seemed to sell hair care products separately. If you're interested, might be worth checking out.
The scalp care steps, from peeling scaling to the calming ampoule
Salon Of Gangseo Branch's scalp care clears away buildup on the scalp with scaling first, then cleanses thoroughly with a scalp-specific shampoo, followed by nourishing care and massage, finishing with a scalp calming ampoule. Designer Doa guided me to my seat and gave me a brief rundown of the process before starting — since it was my first time getting scalp care, I was excited hahaha

First, she applied a scalp peeling product to my head. It was slightly cool, which felt refreshing since it was hot out lol

After that, she set up a steam machine over my head and ran it for about 12 minutes. The steam wasn't hot, just slightly warm.

While the steam was going, they brought me a drink, which I sipped on cold. The options were coffee, orange juice, or tea — three choices.

How cool the scalp shampoo feels, plus the scalp pack massage
After the steam, I moved to the shampoo room where they washed my hair with a scalp shampoo — the cooling sensation was so intense, it felt incredibly refreshing! I already use a shampoo with cooling effect, but this was about 3 times cooler lol I was curious what shampoo it was — should've asked 😂
After the scalp shampoo, they applied a scalp pack. While that sat, they gave me a head massage, and Designer Doa is a true master of head massages. Honestly, with hair salons, isn't it true that if the massage during the wash is good, you keep going back to that person? Her hands were so skillful I wanted it to go on all day ㅠㅠㅋㅋ
After leaving the scalp pack on for 5 minutes and rinsing it off, I went back to my seat where they finished up with the scalp calming ampoule. She mentioned it's better to wash your hair the day after scalp care.
How long the scalp care takes and what the atmosphere is like
Scalp care at Salon Of Gangseo Branch took under an hour, so it wrapped up quickly and never felt boring! And personally I'm not a fan of a lot of chatting at hair salons, so I appreciated that Designer Doa kept things quiet and calm throughout — it felt comfortable and nice hahaha
