My nail cool-down period was finally over, so I wanted a bit of a mood switch and went looking for a shop with both good quality and a reasonable price. That's how I ended up at Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare!

Hongdae has so many beauty shops packed into one area that it's genuinely hard to decide where to go, but this place impressed me overall with thorough basic care and a wide range of designs, so here's my honest review.

Where is Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare, and how do you get there?

Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare is located on the 1st floor of 19 Hongikro 2-gil, near Hongdae's main street, so it was easy to get to by public transport. The shop's sign was clearly visible right from the building entrance, so I could head straight up without wandering around.

I've eaten at plenty of restaurants around here but had no idea there was a nail salon nearby too. The location is genuinely convenient — happy about that!

Walking in, the white-toned interior gave off a calm yet clean feeling! Byuazeu is a total beauty shop running not just nails but also lash extensions, lash perms, and skincare, and the space was clearly and systematically divided by service.

Toward the back, there's a separate area with beds for private treatments, so the flow inside felt uncluttered and comfortable.

They also let me pick a free drink, and I chose a Vita Power! Little touches like this are really nice. You often get thirsty halfway through a nail appointment, so this was a great call.

The design I chose at Byuazeu was the monthly art from the ₩59,000 line. While getting the basic care done, I took my time looking over the monthly art board to decide on a design — the range went from lovely, girly styles to simple art, and the selection was pretty wide.

For this level of design detail in Hongdae at a price in the ₩50,000s, it really felt like great value for money. It was a well-put-together option for chasing a trendy look without spending too much 🧡

Cuticle care and shaping at Byuazeu, fast enough for a lunch break

Before the actual gel application, basic cuticle removal and shape trimming were done first. I've been to many nail salons, and sometimes when the basic care isn't done properly, the cuticles end up looking messy and unfinished — but Byuazeu took such careful care that my fingertips looked clean right away!

From the basic care to the way the surface was evenly shaped, I could feel the skilled touch. The technician's hands were especially fast, which is exactly why I could squeeze this into my short lunch break.

And here are the finished nails! The design, built around a calm gray color, felt overall not overdone — simple and chic. It was exactly the style I wanted.

I can't sit still for long, so speed matters a lot to me — and since the technician's hands were so quick, the old gel removal plus the monthly art took about 40 minutes total!!!

And there was also an adorable shop dog named Ttureu at Byuazeu! Maybe because she loves people, she kept bringing over toys wanting to play! So cute!!! 🥰
