Root touch-up and layered cut at Yume's Hair, a Cheonho hair salon

Hi everyone! I went to a hair salon for a bit of a mood switch after way too long! I'd been growing my hair out no matter what because of my wedding, but at some point I realized it just looked so messy. I kept telling myself I'd cut it after the ceremony, kept putting it off, and finally went.

I'd also gotten my hair dyed for the last time right before the wedding, so my roots had grown out a lot and I got a root touch-up done too! I agonized over where to go while searching for a Cheonho hair salon good at layered cuts, and this is the place I found — and I loved it, haha! I'm 100% down to visit again! I used to be a total salon nomad hopping from place to place, but I think I'm finally settling down here!!

How to find Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch, and is there parking?

Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch sits roughly between Gangdong Station and Cheonho Station, though it feels a bit closer to Gangdong! It's a 5-minute walk from Gangdong Station Exit 1~ It's easy to reach by public transit, and apparently there's parking too! It's hard to find a hair salon in Seoul with parking, so if you're driving, keep this in mind!

If you look for the Trevel Building, Yume's Hair is on one of the upper floors. But here's the thing — the floor you walk into first is B1, and you have to go up one more floor to reach the 1st floor..?! It says 1st floor but it feels like the 2nd floor..! Don't wander around the lobby floor like I did, keep this in mind and head straight up, haha.

Inside the Cheonho salon: drinks, snacks and seat chargers

This is the vibe inside Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch. It's a really clean, pleasant space. It seems like it's been open for a while, but it felt really well maintained! They even had chargers ready at the seats, so you don't need to lug around a heavy portable battery!

Once I sat down, they asked what drink I wanted, and there were so many options I couldn't decide..! They even had zero-sugar options, which was such a nice touch. I went with an iced Americano, and they brought me cookies and jelly along with it!! I'd come straight from work and was hungry, so getting a little something to eat was so touching.. The cookies and jelly were so sweet and delicious, and the Americano was great too!!

What happens in the one-on-one consultation with designer Eunha?

My designer was Eunha. She was so, so kind, and gave me a proper one-on-one consultation tailored to me, which made me trust her completely. She carefully assessed the condition of my hair and gave me the style that suited me best, and I was so grateful for that!

Root touch-up and layered cut: before and after

First, my before… dark roots growing out messily and super damaged ends, ugh. Lots of frizz coming through too, so I'll probably need to come back for a straight perm soon!

And the after!! Before the treatment, she carefully applied a scalp protectant too! I was touched that she thought about my scalp health as well.. Sometimes when a root dye job goes wrong the color ends up a bit mismatched, but she matched the color evenly!! It got so clean and neat, I'm so, so satisfied.

My hair felt so much lighter after the cut too, which put me in a great mood!! There was so much damage on the ends, so it was such a relief, haha. There's still a fair amount of damaged hair, but I don't want to suddenly go short, so I plan to keep trimming off the damaged bits little by little like this.

I've had times before where I just wanted the ends trimmed and ended up with hair way too short, which was really jarring, but Eunha cut it to the exact length I wanted without going too short! The layered cut turned out so pretty too, I'm so satisfied!

I used to be the type to bounce between neighborhood salons, but I think I might actually settle down here now..! Designer Eunha checked in on me carefully to make sure I was comfortable the whole time and was so kind, so I left feeling great about my hair~ I'm 100% going back!!
