In short

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the Dujeong-dong restaurant alley in Cheonan, Chungnam, where staff grill the meat at your table. After a first visit during the opening event, the writer went back craving pork belly and ordered two servings of Boseong green pork belly, one serving of cheonjeopsal (thousand-layer pork belly), plus flower pork collar and gabrisal, finishing with fried rice. With free corkage and staff grilling everything down to the vegetables, the second visit to Cham Dwaejitgan was just as satisfying as the first.

Grilled meat table setting with grilling service at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch

Ever since I discovered the comfort of a Korean BBQ restaurant where the staff grill the meat for you, I've been on the hunt for more places that offer grilling service — and among the Korean BBQ spots in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, there's one I keep going back to, so here's my return-visit review.

Why go back to Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch?

Cham Dwaejitgan is a Cheonan Dujeong-dong restaurant I first visited for its opening event. It offers grilling service and the food is genuinely good, so it went straight onto my list of Dujeong-dong favorites. The day I was craving pork belly, I went back.

  • Hours: Daily 4:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Exterior and parking at Cham Dwaejitgan

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is located in the Dujeong-dong restaurant alley. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking nearby, but there seems to be room for about 1-2 cars right in front of the store.

Cham Dwaejitgan's flagship location is in Jongno, Seoul. It's a Korean BBQ restaurant that smokes the meat with rice husks for flavor and finishes it over charcoal. Having earned recognition in Jongno, an area famous for great food, it recently opened a branch here in Cheonan 🌟

Since it's already a proven restaurant, the odds of it disappointing you are low — and on top of that, they grill the domestic grade-1 pork belly for you directly, so there's really no reason not to go, haha. Plus, free corkage! You can bring your own drinks and enjoy them 😆

Inside the Dujeong-dong restaurant

The interior is quite spacious! With a wood, black and blue combination, it has a modern yet clean vibe. With 60 seats, it seems well suited for group dinners or gatherings too.

Pork belly, cheonjeopsal, flower pork collar and gabrisal

There's a lot to pair with the meat, but the fact that minari (water dropwort) comes as a default side is the real cheat code! As someone who loves the pork belly + minari combo, I was like 'oh yeah, haha'!

If anything runs short, you can refill it at the self-bar. Lettuce and perilla leaves are also available there.

Round one: two servings of Boseong green pork belly plus one serving of cheonjeopsal! You can tell right away the meat quality is good, right? They say good-looking food tastes good, and I think good-looking meat tastes good too, haha.

Sliced potatoes, kkwari peppers, and king oyster mushrooms came as a bonus! They pair really well with the meat 😆

And another thing I liked — the utensils come individually wrapped, so it feels reassuringly hygienic!

Grilling service: how much does the staff cook for you?

Time to really get into grilling! Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch offers grilling service, where the staff cook the meat for you directly, and it's so convenient, haha. Once you get used to the grilling service, it's hard to go back 😆

The staff even grilled the kimchi, minari, sliced potato, kkwari peppers, and king oyster mushrooms for us 👍

The meat came out grilled like a work of art, right? 😍 Once it's fully cooked, the staff sets it aside separately for you ❤️

How did the pork belly and hangjeongsal taste?

Time to actually eat!

Does the pork belly even need explaining? 👍 With the rice-husk smoke aroma and the juices bursting out, it's a flavor that demands a thumbs up!

A grilled piece of hangjeongsal (pork jowl)

Hangjeongsal (pork jowl) has both softness and nuttiness at the same time!

It's a completely different flavor from the pork belly, which made it fun to eat 😀

It's delicious no matter how you eat it, but the kimchi, minari, and lettuce wraps are the best. I couldn't stop eating them, haha.

Adding Boseong green pork flower collar and gabrisal

We added an order of Boseong green pork flower collar and gabrisal!

The staff grilled them skillfully, and since the flavor was different from the pork belly, we could keep eating without getting tired of it 😋

Each cut of pork has its own flavor, so it was fun comparing them as we ate, haha. Everything tasted good, so I think you can just pick based on your own taste!

We kept going until we were stuffed with meat, haha.

Finishing with fried rice 🥄

Even when you're full, you know there's always room for fried rice, right? Despite the generous portion, we scraped the pan clean. Skipping it would have been a real regret 😆

The free extras on the way out 😲

There's cool, sweet yogurt, plus candy, mouthwash, and Febreze too. Perfect down to the very last detail 🌟
