I'm the ultimate baby chick (❁´◡`❁) I took my kid to Pony Land in Gwacheon over the weekend.

Pony Land is right next to Let's Run Park, so you can get up close to horses and even try riding — such a great Gwacheon outing to do with a kid. (Want to go again...) We spent the morning exploring and playing at Pony Land, kept lunch simple with a packed lunchbox,

grabbed coffee at a café, and decided to have something good for dinner before heading home. So that evening we headed straight to Deo Chadol!
Where is Deo Chadol in Gwacheon, and how long is the weekend dinner wait?
Deo Chadol is a duck chadol (brisket) BBQ restaurant on Dwitgol 2-ro, near Let's Run Park in Gwacheon. It's a solid spot for a meal after visiting Pony Land, Seoul Grand Park, or Seoul Land with kids. If you're searching for Gwacheon restaurants, Seoul Grand Park restaurants, or Seoul Land restaurants, this one's worth bookmarking.
The visual is no joke, right? We showed up around 5:30pm on a weekend and couldn't get seated right away — we waited about 20 minutes. Plenty of people out for weekend dinner, as expected. We'd been out and about all day with our kid and were starving, but we waited anyway, dreaming about the food to come.
Sulfur duck brisket BBQ, 180g for 19,000 won: five servings at Deo Chadol

What we ordered that day: sulfur duck chadol (brisket) BBQ, 180g for ₩19,000. It's Deo Chadol's signature dish, made in-house with 100% domestic premium sulfur duck. We ended up ordering a whopping 5 servings.

We started with 3 servings, then added 2 more.

Duck chadol is sliced thin for quick grilling, which made it perfect for sharing among several people.

We grilled it golden-brown, dipped it into Deo Chadol's special sauce, and took a bite — delicious, as expected. The duck flavor wasn't overpowering at all, and being sliced thin, we just kept reaching for more! After a Gwacheon outing with the kid, grown-ups deserve a proper meal too. Being out walking all day somehow made it taste even better.

Cheese for grilling, the review event gift at Deo Chadol
We also threw on the grillable cheese we got from the review event while cooking the meat. Grilled golden and crisp, it paired really well with the meat — a nice treat. Eating just meat can get a little monotonous, but adding this in gave us a whole different flavor!

Grilled scallops and steamed egg with seafood for the kids
We added one more side: grilled scallops. Cooked golden on the same grill pan as the meat, they were chewy and delicious. For the kids, we also ordered seafood steamed egg,

soft steamed egg with seafood mixed in — great for eating together with a child.

When eating out with a kid, it just feels reassuring to have at least one dish they can eat.
It was so good we ordered 2 more servings

Ending the meal with self-made fried rice
You can't just stop after the meat, haha. We finished up with self-fried rice. Fried rice after BBQ is basically an unwritten rule! There's fun in frying it yourself, and somehow fried rice always finds room even when you're full. That day, after playing hard with our kid at Pony Land and eating a hearty dinner at Deo Chadol, the whole day felt perfectly wrapped up.

Pony Land plus Deo Chadol: a Gwacheon family day plan
This Gwacheon trip went: Pony Land → wander around Let's Run Park → dinner at Deo Chadol. Gwacheon has so many kid-friendly spots — Seoul Land, Seoul Grand Park, the National Science Museum — making it a great weekend family destination.
If you're like us, heading to Pony Land in Gwacheon and looking for a place to eat, or searching for Seoul Land restaurants, Seoul Grand Park restaurants, or Gwacheon National Science Museum restaurants, Deo Chadol is worth checking out too. Just note that on weekends like this, there can be a wait, so I'd recommend visiting with a bit of extra time to spare.
Our family enjoyed it so much that day we said, "Let's come back here next time we're in Gwacheon!" Deo Chadol is the kind of place that'll come to mind every time we plan a Gwacheon outing. If you want to spend a whole day out with your kid in Gwacheon and end it with a hearty dinner, I think I'll be back again :)
