Where is Cheongnok Minari Restaurant Gwacheon, and what are its hours?

Cheongnok Minari Restaurant Gwacheon is located on the 2nd floor of Gwacheon Hillstate Building A, near Exit 11 of Gwacheon Government Complex Station. It's right next to Two○, and while most other shops in this commercial area close during break time, Cheongnok Minari Gwacheon has no break time at all, so it's good to visit any time of day — even at our somewhat late hour, we could still get a meal, which was great, haha.

Visiting at the awkward hour of 3:30pm on a Saturday, this minari shabu-shabu restaurant near Gwacheon Station was fairly quiet. With baby chairs available and a spacious, comfortable dining room, it also seemed like a great spot for group outings or for nearby office workers' lunch and dinner.

Ordering half-and-half shabu-shabu for three plus gulrim mandu
With a kiosk at every table, ordering was easy at this Gwacheon shabu-shabu restaurant. It's famous for minari shabu-shabu, but they also sell other main dishes with minari, including healthy duck brisket and pork belly, which pairs well with minari. We ordered half-and-half shabu-shabu for three plus meatball dumplings (gulrim mandu).

Half-and-half shabu-shabu (₩15,900 per person) for three plus meatball dumplings (₩2,000) came out incredibly generously — and Cheongnok Minari Restaurant even has vegetables at a self-serve bar!!
How the unlimited vegetable self-serve bar works

If you're the type who runs out of vegetables before meat while eating shabu-shabu, that's me. But at this Gwacheon shabu-shabu spot, Cheongnok Minari Restaurant Gwacheon, vegetables are unlimited, so you can bring as much as you want, endlessly!!

After thoroughly reading the guide on how to enjoy minari shabu-shabu (lol)

Once the broth boils, in goes the meat, and when the vegetables run low, in go more vegetables — that's the joy of all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu ♡

Spicy broth or clear broth: how do they taste?
If you've followed me for a while, you know I'm a shabu-shabu lover!! At this Gwacheon favorite, Cheongnok Minari Restaurant, the unlimited vegetables meant I could eat as many as I wanted, which made me so happy, sob bb.
The spicy broth was truly spicy, about the heat level of Shin Ramyun, with a sharp, tangy kick — spicy-food lovers would find it addictive. The clear broth started out bland, but as the vegetables steeped, the savory flavor built up and it got deeper and more delicious!! You could also dip into other sauces like soy sauce, perilla, or hot sauce with the clear broth for a different taste each time.

Adding kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) to the spicy side
The kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) noodles at this Gwacheon minari shabu-shabu favorite are not your typical plain flour noodles!! I wanted to pile in a ton of minari and go full minari kalguksu or mushroom kalguksu mode, but my companion said eating too much wasn't good, so we kept it modest and just slurped down the noodles. Since the broth was so delicious, of course the noodles were delicious too bb!

Why half-and-half broth wins: kalguksu on one side, congee on the other
The advantage of half-and-half broth: you can make kalguksu on one side and congee on the other! We made congee with the clear broth, first ladling out the right amount of broth, haha. I consider myself a bit of an expert at making shabu-shabu congee this way and that, and it worked out well again this time — proud, tmi. The congee made with clear broth was savory but not too intense, a comforting, unpretentious flavor — exactly enough, not too much, not too little, a clean finish to the meal.
Who should eat at Cheongnok Minari Restaurant Gwacheon?
