When I was wondering where to grab a light drink after work near Yeongdeungpo Station, I ended up at Nani Byeolgwan. It's right in front of Times Square, so it was easy to get to from the station.
Where is Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, and what are the hours?
Located across from Times Square

Here's the basic info for Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo. The address is 183 Munnae-ro, 1st floor, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and it's open from 18:00 to 2:00 the next day (last order 01:00, closed Sundays).
The exterior alone reminded me of a small tavern in Japan or Taiwan, so it caught my eye just walking by. It's not a huge or flashy place — more the cozy, laid-back feel unique to a small izakaya.
Is Nani Byeolgwan good for a solo drink or a second stop?
Open until 2am, so it's a solid pick for a second or third drinking spot near Yeongdeungpo Station!

Nani Byeolgwan felt less suited to a proper sit-down meal with a group and more like the kind of place that fits when you just want a simple drink after work.

It's especially not intimidating to visit alone, so if you're looking for a solo-drinking spot, this is it! It's also a good fit if you've got plans near Yeongdeungpo Station and, after finishing your first meal, want to move on to a second round with a simple side dish and another drink.
It felt like a good place for days when you don't want anything too heavy, but just beer alone feels a bit lacking.

Two skewer orders and grilled mentaiko: enough food for one?

For a simple meal, I ordered two skewer dishes and grilled mentaiko (marinated pollock roe).

The skewers were easy to enjoy as a low-key drinking snack, and the grilled mentaiko paired well with beer too. Even without ordering a bunch of dishes, the portions were more generous than I expected — plenty for a simple night of drinking.

Usually at an izakaya you end up adding more side dishes as you drink, but this time I was pretty satisfied with just what I originally ordered.

Beer and atmosphere at Nani Byeolgwan
Personally, what I liked most that day was the overall atmosphere. Even on a day with no special plans after work, it felt like a nice spot to stop by for one beer and wrap up the day.

The beer taps also seemed well maintained, so the beer came out clean and was easy to enjoy alongside the food. Pairing salty snacks like skewers and grilled mentaiko with cold beer made the drinks go down naturally.

When to head to Nani Byeolgwan near Yeongdeungpo Station
Nani Byeolgwan felt less like a big, atmospheric izakaya destination and more like a spot to remember when you want skewers and a beer near Yeongdeungpo Station.

Its accessibility right in front of Times Square is a plus, and it's low-pressure enough to visit alone, so it should suit anyone looking for a solo drink or a casual round after work. It also seems good for when you've eaten a full meal at your first stop and want to move on to something simple with a beer. When you want to end the day near Yeongdeungpo Station with a few skewers and a beer rather than a big elaborate drinking session, give Nani Byeolgwan a try!
