Inside Glory Works and the free self-serve corner

Interior of Glory Works with sunlight through the window

The interior wasn't a huge sprawling space, but felt clean and well organized. Sunlight coming in by the window made it look like a pretty nice spot during the day. The tables weren't cramped either, so I could sit comfortably through the meal~

Instead of the usual chaotic vibe of a Chinese restaurant, it was a relatively calm place to eat. Ordering is done via tablet, which was also convenient since I could look through the menu at my own pace.

Pickled radish and jjajachai served as basic sides

Pickled radish and jjajachai (pickled mustard tuber) come as standard sides! Good to snack on between bites.

Table spread of seafood jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, and fried dumplings

The food came out pretty fast! And the look of it — insane...

Seafood jjamppong at 10,000 won: how hot is the Vietnamese chili?

A bowl of Glory Works' red-broth seafood jjamppong

Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) can get boring fast if the broth is just plain spicy, right?!! Glory Works' seafood jjamppong had a good balance between spicy and clean, refreshing flavor.

Close-up of the jjamppong broth with Vietnamese chili

It has Vietnamese chili in it, adding a subtle heat, while the seafood gives the broth a savory, refreshing depth!

Springy noodles lifted from the jjamppong broth

The noodles were also springy and chewy, pairing well with the broth.

Shrimp, octopus, squid — plenty of seafood packed in, so it was filling! And since the self-serve rice was free, mixing it into the broth was so delicious!!

Jjajangmyeon at 8,000 won comes with a fried egg on top

Glory Works jjajangmyeon topped with a fried egg

Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) with a fried egg included as standard actually exists?!! Usually a fried egg only comes with ganjjajang, but at Glory Works even the regular jjajang comes with one!

They mix it up nicely for you~

Jjajangmyeon mixed with black bean sauce

Sweet, savory, and nutty — the jjajang sauce paired really well with the noodles! A different kind of appeal from the jjamppong.

Fried dumplings, 8 pieces for 6,000 won: crisp outside, juicy inside

A plate of 8 fried dumplings

Fried dumplings at a Chinese restaurant aren't optional, they're essential!!

Crispy fried surface of the dumplings

Just looking at them, they seem so crispy, right?!

Full of juices inside!! Watch out, it's hot 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Who should eat at Glory Works in Sangdong?

This time I visited Glory Works near Sangdong Station! If you're looking for a spicy seafood jjamppong in Sangdong, I'd recommend Glory Works! Especially if you like a refreshing seafood broth with a sharp kick of spice, the jjamppong should be right up your alley.

The jjajangmyeon has that classic sweet-and-savory appeal, so it was great to order alongside. Adding dumplings on top makes the table so much more filling than just noodles alone. Thanks for the meal today!
