Gwangju group-table dinner: truffle gnocchi, honey fries at Bueokgan

I love gnocchi so much — honestly every gnocchi is good, but I wanted to introduce the place that was the best. This is already my nth visit, haha.

Where is Bueokgan Sangmu Branch, and where do you park?

Bueokgan Sangmu Branch is at 1F, 25 Seogwangju-ro, Seo-gu, Gwangju, right next to Jjamppong Jijon! It's a European-style restaurant with a Rome hotel concept, so both the inside and outside are decked out in European style.

There's parking space behind the building, so you can park with plenty of room 👍🏻👍🏻

The exterior is so pretty. I used to go a lot at lunch, but going in the evening felt even more atmospheric?!

Bueokgan Sangmu Branch even has a terrace like this, which is perfect for weather like this,, but I've never once seen anyone eating there. I want to go in the morning and drink an iced Americano on the terrace with brunch. Doesn't it feel really European somehow? (I haven't been, but haha)

There's a big table, so it's great for groups too! But it's really so big that if you sit at opposite ends you have to pass plates around. There are also half-moon sofa-style seats off to the side.

True to the Rome hotel concept, the interior is decorated so prettily too. The vibe is great, so it's perfect for a date,, I even came here for my birthday this time, haha.

The restroom is right by the exit. I really love that men's and women's are separate.

You order via kiosk. Water and tidy tableware come out neatly set.

Menu time~ I've eaten quite a lot of the menu here, and the standouts were the pastry soup, anchovy oil pasta, basil pesto cream pasta, rosé pasta, gnocchi 🖤, arugula pizza, and jambon pizza.. honestly everything was just delicious haha.

There are also set menus like this. Soup, salad, pasta, and pizza all come together in a well-rounded set. The Couple Set B seems like really good value. Salad, pasta, pizza, and 2 drinks for ₩51,000!! It's such a shame there's no gnocchi in the set, ugh.

There's also a receipt review event. I ordered truffle mushroom cream gnocchi ₩22,000, shrimp rosé pasta ₩20,000, and sweet potato fries ₩8,000!

How the sweet potato fries, shrimp rosé pasta and truffle gnocchi tasted

First up, sweet potato fries. They come with ketchup and honey together! Both go perfectly with them, especially the honey 🍯

Next, the shrimp rosé pasta! Plump shrimp with rosé cream is such a perfect match 🫶🏻 The sauce was generous too, which I loved.

And finally, the gnocchi. This cream is seriously,, so freaking good ㅜㅜ You'll definitely need a cola while eating it, but it's a flavor you keep wanting more of,,🥺❤️

The photos come out so pretty too! The visuals are amazing.

Eating the gnocchi together with the mushrooms is honestly insanely good. A friend trying gnocchi for the first time said it was so delicious she scraped up even the sauce.

It was my first time trying sweet potato fries there, and they were delicious?!? Crispy and chewy,,,,,, 🍠🍠 I never expected honey to go with them, but it matched way better than I thought, haha.

The rosé pasta here is completely delicious too!! Seriously every dish is good,,🥹🥹 Especially since the shrimp are plump, it tastes even better.

The pastry pie I got from the review event. It had honey brushed on top and was crispy — perfect for dessert.

Bueokgan Sangmu Branch is a place many go to for work dinners, and it would also be great with friends, family, or a partner. It nails both the atmosphere and the food! It's also great for brunch, and since they have wine, it would be perfect for an anniversary too. If you're looking for a brunch or Western food spot in Sangmu, I highly recommend Bueokgan 👍🏻🖤🖤
