Daegu bossam restaurant with free weekend parking: Uldong Bossam

Where is Uldong Bossam, and how does free weekend City Hall parking work?
Uldong Bossam is a bossam restaurant on the 1st floor of 279 Gyeongsanggamyeong-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, right near Daegu City Hall's Dongin Building. On weekends you can use the Daegu City Hall public parking lot for free, so we parked comfortably and walked over :)
Uldong Bossam has been super hot lately in Gyodong, Daegu! I actually came once before and had to turn back because it was too crowded, but this weekend I tried again and finally got to eat there haha
As soon as we walked into Uldong Bossam, this Gyodong, Daegu restaurant, the staff greeted us so kindly — a great first impression :)

Inside Uldong Bossam: seating and atmosphere
Inside Uldong Bossam there's a bar table, regular tables, and a private room. The interior was a bit different from what I imagined a bossam place would look like — overall clean and cozy
A place that seems perfect for solo dining, dates, family meals, or small gatherings!!
Felt like coming to Seoul and finding one of those hot new restaurants?? haha
What comes with two extra-meat bossam servings?
That day we ordered the large bossam for two plus a potato pancake at Uldong Bossam.
When the whole set came out — wow... bossam can be plated this neatly?
Even for a meal in the tens-of-thousands-won range, every side dish was arranged so carefully — much more elegant than I expected
Spinach, bean sprouts, pickled onion, along with radish salad and minari (water dropwort) that pair well with bossam, salted shrimp, and ssamjang (dipping paste), all served neatly, plus rice and chadol doenjang stew — it made for a pretty filling meal
And most of all, the bossam looked so pretty!!
How did the bossam pork taste?
I prefer tender, soft meat over dry meat, and with this bossam I could tell from the very first bite it was exactly my style!!
They ground sesame right there and mixed it into soy sauce before eating, and the nutty aroma hit immediately haha The lean meat to fat ratio was just right and the meat was so soft — dip it deep into the soy sauce and any greasiness disappears!
The bossam meat alone is delicious, but topped with minari and radish salad it felt like a table set by a chef from Culinary Class Wars!! With that fragrant, crunchy texture added, it's totally my style!!
Given how food prices are these days, it's rare to find a place at this price point serving bossam, sides, and stew all this neatly — the composition and plating clearly show care, making it a great choice for family gatherings or dates!
Minari, radish salad, and a piece of meat on rice!! Nothing beats it for making you eat more rice!! Seriously, so good~~
And the chadol doenjang stew was so rich and delicious — I think that broth might actually be the real kicker!!?? So good!!
How big is the 9,000 won potato pancake?
Uldong Bossam's side dish, the potato pancake, is 9,000 won, and it's quite big. This big a potato pancake for 9,000 won!!! And as soon as it comes out, they top it with cheese!!
Instead of the usual thin batter, it's made with shredded potato fried crispy — even crunchier and the texture is amazing!
The outside is so crispy, and with cheese on top the nutty flavor is boosted even more! It's also quite big, so it's perfect to order alongside bossam and share!!
The portion is so generous I think next time I could just order the basic bossam set and add the potato pancake! It's good dipped in soy sauce, and pairs perfectly with ketchup too!!
Is Uldong Bossam worth it near Daegu City Hall?
If you're looking for a hearty meal or a clean, well-plated bossam restaurant near Daegu City Hall, Uldong Bossam is worth a visit. It was so good I've been telling all my family, friends, and acquaintances, and I plan to come back again haha
And I finished it off with one more cup of plum tea on the way out haha
