Daegu bossam restaurant dinner with plum tea finish: Uldong Bossam
In short
Uldong Bossam is a bossam (boiled pork wraps) restaurant on Gyeongsanggamyeong-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu, near the Dongin annex of Daegu City Hall. On a dinner visit the writer ordered the medium Uldong Bossam platter at 39,000 won for 3–4 people plus a potato pancake at 9,000 won, and got pork belly and pork jowl boiled meat, a spread of side dishes, doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) and a potato pancake with cheese grated at the table, closing the meal with plum tea. Uldong Bossam works just as well for a solo dinner as for a group gathering.

Today I'm introducing a Daegu bossam spot that's already word-of-mouth famous among local office workers for its neat, well-composed table settings — Uldong Bossam. Juicy, tender boiled pork, savory side dishes, and even a potato pancake that nailed it. This place was so good I wanted to share it with you right away!!

Where is Uldong Bossam, and what are its hours and parking?
Uldong Bossam is at 279 Gyeongsanggamyeong-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, 1st floor, near the Dongin annex of Daegu City Hall, so it wasn't hard to find.
- Hours: Daily 11:00–23:00
- Break time: 15:00–16:30
- Last order: 21:30
- Parking: None

There are chairs set up outside the entrance, so you can sit for a bit while waiting.

Inside Uldong Bossam: solo bar seats to group tables
Uldong Bossam had a calm, cozy overall atmosphere, with warm wood tones blending with soft lighting.
The seating was well thought out — from solo bar tables where you can eat comfortably alone, to group seating.
On one side, there was a space that wasn't a fully enclosed room but was partitioned off, making it perfect for a group dinner or family gathering!

Oriental paintings and traditional decor pieces were placed throughout, giving the space a Korean touch,

and with clean tables and ordering tablets, it didn't feel heavy like an old-school Korean restaurant — instead it felt neat and modern overall.

It was a Korean restaurant with a good atmosphere where tradition and modernity blended naturally 🤎
Uldong Bossam menu and prices

One of Uldong Bossam's signature menu items is the 'bossam set meal' (10,900 won). It's a solo set meal where you can eat your fill of tender boiled pork and various side dishes, and it looked like great value for a lunch for the local office workers around here.
I visited during dinner time, so I ordered the Uldong Bossam (medium) — for 3–4 people — for 39,000 won, and the potato pancake for 9,000 won.

Side dishes and the pork belly and pork jowl boiled meat
Right after ordering, the basic side dishes were set out — pickled onions, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned greens, salted shrimp, ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), and fresh lettuce wraps — a solid lineup that paired well with the main meat.

And then the star of the show — the boiled pork!

Once it was all set out, the table was completely full ~~~

The meat came in two cuts — pork belly and pork jowl — and the pale, glossy surface of the meat made my mouth water just looking at it.
It came with minari (water dropwort), onion, dried radish strips, and cheongyang chili as accompaniments.

The fat-to-lean ratio was just right, and the cuts were thick rather than thin, so there was a nice chew to it.
There was no gamey smell at all, and above all, the meat was really tender.

How to pair pork jowl and pork belly at Uldong Bossam
I tried the pork jowl topped with minari, dried radish, and garlic — the moist, mild flavor of the meat followed by the sharp bite of garlic and the fragrant minari wrapping it all up — the combination was insane haha

For the pork belly, I put dried radish with a little pickled onion on top... and this is just the kind of taste you keep eating without stopping lol

There were so many different side dishes that it was fun mixing and matching combinations to suit your taste.
Was the doenjang stew that comes with the bossam any good?
The doenjang (soybean paste) stew served alongside the bossam had generous chunks of meat, tofu, and vegetables.
The broth was slightly spicy and savory, and it went really well eating rice with the bossam, so in the end I ordered an extra bowl of rice too haha. If I'd only had the bossam it might have felt a little lacking, but with the doenjang stew added in, it made for a pretty filling meal.

Potato pancake, 9,000 won, with cheese grated at the table
The potato pancake that came out last had a look all its own! Thinly julienned potatoes fried until crispy 🥔🍟
The owner grates cheese right at your table.

The salty cheese went really well with the potato pancake, and the outside was so crispy it felt almost like eating a potato chip.
If ordering just the bossam feels like it's missing something, adding the potato pancake as a side seems like a good move.

After the meal, plum tea was served, completing the palate cleanse!!

Uldong Bossam for a solo lunch or an evening drink
At lunch, Uldong Bossam seems great for office workers or solo diners filling up on the bossam set meal, and at dinner, having the Uldong Bossam or the boiled pork hot pot with a pancake looked like it would go well with a drink. I didn't get to try the boiled pork hot pot this time, so I'm definitely ordering it on my next visit. If you're in Dongin-dong, Daegu craving a clean Korean meal, or want tender bossam with a variety of side dishes, Uldong Bossam is worth a visit.
