Weekday queue at a Daegu peanut bread shop: Daesin Peanut Bread
In short
Daesin Peanut Bread is a peanut bread shop at Gate 11 of the North Gate, Seomun Market Zone 2 Complex in Jung-gu, Daegu. The writer lined up on a weekday afternoon with her visiting mother and took away peanut bread and egg bread, priced from 3,000 won for 20 pieces, and the three of them reheated it at home with her husband, where it turned out even fluffier than at the market. Daesin Peanut Bread is worth buying in bulk to freeze and reheat one batch at a time.

A Daegu trip with mom that starts at Seomun Market
My mom came to visit Daegu this time! Whenever she visits, we always stop by Seomun Market, and this time was no exception haha. I told her confidently that peanut bread is the real specialty of Daegu's Seomun Market,

and sure enough, the moment we arrived it was already packed, so we naturally ended up in line lol. It was this busy on a weekday afternoon, so I started wondering just how crowded it must get on weekends.

Where is Daesin Peanut Bread, and how much is peanut bread?
Daesin Peanut Bread is located at Gate 11, North Gate, Zone 2 Complex of Seomun Market in Jung-gu, Daegu. It's practically a street food starter zone, so you'll find it easily! Honestly, Daesin Peanut Bread is the place I always stop by whenever I go to Seomun Market, but with my mom here, my feet somehow walked over there even more eagerly haha.

The main menu item, peanut bread, comes in 20 pieces for ₩3,000, 45 for ₩6,000, and 80 for ₩10,000 — generous portions, so buying several doesn't feel like a burden. (And on top of that, they always throw in a little extra.)

My husband really loves how packed with peanuts this place's peanut bread is, so I packed enough for mom, me, and him too lol. Just walking around the market and looking at things, one bag disappeared in no time.

Beyond peanut bread: egg bread, peanut jam and peanut latte
Ah! Daesin Peanut Bread has more variety than you'd expect beyond just peanut bread — egg bread, roasted peanuts, peanut jam, peanut latte — so it's fun picking something a little different each time I come to Daegu's Seomun Market haha.

What caught my eye this time was a 100% peanut spread with not a single drop of water added. It's made by grinding pure peanuts with no additives, so even my health-conscious mom looked at it with interest haha. It's good spread on bread or eaten straight off the spoon since it's so nutty, and it'd make a nice gift too — I thought I should pick one up next time lol.
How Daesin Peanut Bread bakes it: peanuts poured in by the scoop
This time I properly captured the moment they pour the batter into the mold and bake it. Wow, is it really okay to put in this much peanut? — that kind of admiration just came out naturally at how much peanut they pour in...

The moment the golden-brown peanut bread slides off the pan with a little clatter, it made my mouth water just watching lol.
And you know how crowded and hot it gets wandering the market? Daesin Peanut Bread fills the peanut latte cup all the way up... and it looked so refreshing!!! A cold drink was exactly what I needed when I got thirsty from browsing the market.

What does freshly baked peanut bread taste like?
The warm, freshly baked peanut bread was slightly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and full of that distinct nutty peanut flavor.

Mom took one bite and kept reaching for more haha. The egg bread was plain and mild, so alternating it with the sweet peanut bread meant we never got sick of either one.

Reheating Daesin peanut bread at home tastes even better
The packaging had instructions for how to enjoy it at home, so I followed them exactly, and it had a different charm from eating it while walking around the market lol.

Once home, my husband and I had another snack time with mom, reheating the peanut bread and egg bread — and it turned out even fluffier than at the market, warmed all the way through, so much that we ended up saying this round was actually tastier haha.
My husband looked at the peanut bread he'd set aside just for himself and said this place's peanut bread is really the best, polishing off several pieces in no time lol. It felt like there couldn't be a better snack — the three of us enjoyed a deliciously sweet dessert time!!

Even though it wasn't dinnertime yet, everyone was already saying they were full lolllll;;^^.. Mom had one more at home and said she wants to come back here again haha.
Since I live in Daegu, I can just head to Daesin Peanut Bread every time I visit Seomun Market, so this feels like such a win lol. But if you're a traveler, buying a good amount and freezing it to pull out one piece at a time sounds like a great idea too.
If you're planning a trip to Daegu's Seomun Market, I'd recommend grabbing a warm bag of peanut bread at Daesin Peanut Bread. If you're doing a family outing in Daegu like I did, you'll love it even more :)
