While waiting for the hot pot, meat dumplings and kimchi dumplings arrived first. "Wait, we didn't order this?" haha — turned out it was an appetizer they give you to try before the hot pot comes out. We tasted them while they were still warm, and they were perfect for building up an appetite while waiting.

How to eat the handmade dumpling hot pot and get a broth refill

Here's the handmade dumpling hot pot I ordered while looking for good dumplings in Cheonan. It came out right after the appetizer, generously filled — just the sight of the pot packed full was already satisfying. I'd recommend this as a good dumpling spot near Independence Hall too.

Broth starting to boil in the dumpling hot pot
Ladling broth over the dumpling hot pot

Once the broth starts bubbling, ladle it over the top so the dumplings and ingredients cook evenly. True to a good Cheonan hot pot, the broth got deeper in flavor the longer it simmered.

With bean sprouts, bok choy, and meat inside, everything slowly cooked through as the broth simmered.

True to a good Cheonan hot pot, the flavor got deeper as the ingredients melded together. Wow, so hearty! I ladled a bowlful of vegetables and meat — the broth was just incredible.

After eating a good amount of the solid ingredients, we asked for one more broth refill!

And wow, there were two more dumplings hidden inside the pot! We happily split them between us again haha. Having plenty of dumplings packed inside made eating even more fun.

Why we added sujebi instead of ramen noodles

Since I'd had way too much ramen over the weekend, I went with sujebi this time!

Sujebi added into the hot pot broth

Dropping the chewy sujebi into the deeply-brewed broth let it soak up all that flavor — even better than I expected. A real specialty of this Cheonan hot pot.

Free kudzu naengmyeon for dessert

Order the hot pot at Omi Omi and dessert cold noodles come free! Finishing off the hot, hearty dumpling hot pot with cool naengmyeon was just right. If you're looking for a good Cheonan hot pot, I'd recommend this combo — it was the perfect palate cleanser.
