Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch

Where is Dwaeji Gomtang House in Seongsu?
This time I visited a clear gomtang (pork bone soup) restaurant in Seongsu, Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch. I'd been to their original Seongsu location before, but this was my first time here.

Going up to the 4th floor of the Musinsa Grand Store building, there's a food court. Walk right into the Food Garden and you'll see various brand restaurants set up inside.
The entrance was transparent, with information about each restaurant brand and instructions on how to use the space.

It looked like you could enjoy everything from meals to desserts in one place, so I went right in.
Musinsa Food Garden: atmosphere and how it works
Musinsa Food Garden was a spacious place with lots of tables, and Dwaeji Gomtang House was inside, marked with an 'A.' Overall it was wide and pleasant, good for groups and solo diners alike.
Being on the 4th floor, the window view was pretty great too.
Water, napkins, and wet wipes were freely available at the self-service bar. Everything was kept clean overall, and just so you know, Musinsa Food Garden (the food court) is a cashless store. And of course, outside food isn't allowed.

I went to the House counter inside, where there was a kiosk — you order there and grab a buzzer.

Dwaeji Gomtang House menu and what was ordered
Dwaeji Gomtang House's menu is broadly split into clear gomtang / spicy / seaweed soup, and you can choose between a basic (original) size or a large size.

I chose what could be called the signature main menu — the House Clear Gomtang, basic size — and added the minari toat wang mandu (water celery and hijiki giant dumplings) as a side!

Ingredient origin labels and allergy information were also clearly displayed, for reference. Inside the counter, there was a dish return station and a spot to grab utensils.
What are the window solo dining seats like?
The window seats at the Musinsa Food Garden where Dwaeji Gomtang House is located are basically a solo dining zone, so I could eat comfortably alone. Bag hooks were installed under the tables too, which was even more convenient.
Being on the 4th floor, the view was quite good too. Eating solo felt more satisfying with the relaxed atmosphere.
What comes with the House Clear Gomtang set?
A little while later, my order came out, and I quickly grabbed it — the tray arrived neat and generously packed.

As I mentioned, this is the House Clear Gomtang set. Personally I love clear-broth gomtang soups, so I was already pleased.
The side dishes were substantial too, and there was even an orange for dessert, which made it complete.

Above all, the herring roe with dried radish was really delicious. Just so you know, you can order this separately too.

The gochujji (fermented chili pepper pickle) is also one of the restaurant's signatures, and it went really well with the clear gomtang.

I'd say it's a great place for a hearty solo meal at Musinsa.
How big are the minari toat wang mandu?
Next came the minari toat wang mandu. It wasn't just called 'giant' for show — the plate itself was actually as big as the gomtang bowl. I took a photo together for size comparison.
The minari toat wang mandu comes with three pieces total. It's very filling as a side, and there was even dipping sauce prepared generously.

Taste and portion size of the gomtang and dumplings
The clear gomtang soup came with rice already inside. As it looks, the flavor was clean and light, so I could eat it heartily to the last spoonful without feeling greasy. The meat was tender, had no gamey smell, and was generously portioned.
I also tried the minari toat wang mandu — the filling was packed full, and the portion looked perfect for two people to split as a side dish. Eating it all by myself, I ended up quite stuffed.
That wraps it up — if you're looking for a great Korean mandu and gomtang restaurant near Seongsu Station, I highly recommend Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Branch.
