Reading glasses and Cartier at Second Face, a Myeongji optical shop
In short
Second Face Myeongji is a house-brand eyewear shop in Myeongji Oceancity, Gangseo-gu, Busan. The writer came in for new reading glasses for their parents, had a precision eye exam on the ZEISS VISUCORE 500 and picked up the finished glasses about 10 minutes later, trying on Cartier, Lunor and Chrome Hearts in the private luxury zone at the back while waiting. Second Face Myeongji is a good place to compare practical everyday glasses and high-end frames in one visit.

My parents' reading glasses had gotten uncomfortable lately, so I decided to visit Second Face Myeongji for an eye exam and a new pair of reading glasses. Second Face Myeongji is already word-of-mouth famous as the #1 most popular eyewear shop in Busan, and the staff were so friendly that it was a pleasure to browse the many frames.
Where is Second Face Myeongji and where do you park?

Second Face Myeongji is across from Oceancity Dream Chef. For parking, you can use the Daeyu Building underground parking lot or park along the roadside.
What frames are on the display shelves by the entrance?
At the central display near the entrance of Second Face Myeongji, everyday frames and sunglasses for light daily wear were neatly arranged.

There were also frames from Korean premium eyewear brand alpen and American vintage eyewear brand MOSCOT.

On the left side of the entrance there was also a wide range of basic functional lenses on display.

The precision eye exam for reading glasses: ZEISS VISUCORE 500
To get the new reading glasses, I started with the eye exam. The shop has the ZEISS VISUCORE 500, a cutting-edge precision exam device that's mostly adopted by eyewear shops aiming for high-end, precise vision testing. Unlike the older method of moving between multiple machines, this device allows one-stop testing, which cuts the exam time way down. It really was over in just a few minutes! Being a Zeiss Expert store, it instantly gave me confidence that the vision measurement here is scientific and precise.

From the eye exam to the finished glasses took about 10 minutes, so I used the wait to take a look around the store.
Second Face Myeongji, a specialist shop for high-end house brands
Second Face is a specialist store for premium house brands. With everything from domestic brands to luxury house brands, there were so many eyewear brands that browsing was genuinely fun.

Trying on Cartier glasses in the private luxury zone at the back
Heading further into Second Face Myeongji, there's a hidden private luxury zone that feels like a high-end fashion boutique transplanted indoors. Among everything there, the Cartier glasses stood out. Trying them on, I really understood — these are eyewear from a high-end fashion house, well beyond simple frames. Along with Cartier, the store has brands that are genuinely hard to find in Busan, making it a great place to compare and buy. Apparently the range here is even bigger than Busan's Centum store.

From handcrafted frames priced at over ₩20 million to an endless lineup of luxury eyewear brands — Cartier, Miu Miu, Gucci, and of course Celine, Chanel, Dior, Prada, Thom Browne, Balmain — it was a joy to actually see and try on brands I'd only ever heard about.

Lunor, Yuichi Iwasaki and Chrome Hearts frames
Lunor, the German classic eyewear master famous for the glasses Steve Jobs wore. The rimless line was so pretty — classic and neat. Beyond Lunor, the store also had handcrafted Yuichi Iwasaki glasses from Japan and Chrome Hearts frames set with large diamonds — all the rare, highly sought-after house brands gathered in one place!

The range of eyewear on offer here felt like Busan's best in terms of sheer spectrum — from the ever-popular, dependable Ray-Ban line to the latest tech darling among eyewear enthusiasts, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses series, all available to see and try on in person.
The finished reading glasses and paying with Dongbaekjeon

After looking around, the finished glasses! Dongbaekjeon payment is accepted too, so don't forget the cashback whether you're buying everyday glasses or a pricey luxury pair! If you're in Busan looking for your dream pair of glasses or sunglasses, or considering myopia-control lenses and a precision eye exam for your kids, definitely pay a visit to Second Face Myeongji — friendliness, expertise, and perks, all in one place.
