Late-night Korean BBQ in Yeondong, Jeju: 4 dishes at Dolgyeok Hanwoo
In short
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a 1++ hanwoo beef and black pork Korean BBQ restaurant on Yeondong 11-gil in Jeju City, a short drive from Jeju Airport. Arriving after 8pm to a nearly full dining room, the writer ordered four things at once: hanwoo galbisal (boneless short rib), cubed black pork jowl, Dolgyeok Sacheon Jjajang Jjapageti (spicy black-bean noodles) and Dolgyeok Hanwoo Doenjang Sulbap (soybean stew with rice). Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a solid pick for a first or last night in Jeju when you want beef, pork, noodles and rice in one sitting.

While looking for somewhere to eat near our accommodation, we ended up at Dolgyeok Hanwoo, a Jeju Yeondong favorite. It was great for trying everything from 1++ hanwoo and black pork to a variety of meal dishes. If you're weighing options for a BBQ place near Jeju Airport, check out this Dolgyeok Hanwoo review!
Where is Dolgyeok Hanwoo, and where do you park?

Dolgyeok Hanwoo is on the 1st floor of a building at 12 Yeondong 11-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju. Since it's in Yeondong, close to Jeju Airport, it seems like a great spot for dinner on your first or last day of the trip. We ended up going because we couldn't travel far and were debating dinner options near our accommodation!
You can use the building's own parking lot or the one right next door, and if those are full, Sinjeju public parking lot is also an option.
Still a full house at 8pm: inside Dolgyeok Hanwoo

The restaurant has plenty of tables, so it looks like a good fit for couples, families, or groups. We arrived after 8pm and the place was still nearly packed — clearly a popular spot!
If you want to eat at a relaxed pace, I'd recommend avoiding peak hours or calling ahead to check on seating!
Dolgyeok Hanwoo's menu and the banchan table setting

📌 What we ordered
- Hanwoo galbisal (rib meat)
- Black pork cubed jowl
- Dolgyeok Sacheon Jjajang Jjapageti
- Dolgyeok Hanwoo Doenjang Sulbap
The menu had a wide range of beef cuts prepared — hanwoo galbisal, specialty cuts, brisket, and more. All the hanwoo dishes are 1++ grade, so I'd recommend this place if you want quality beef at a reasonable price!

The basic table setting came with a nice variety of side dishes that go well with grilled meat — cucumber kimchi, pickles, kimchi, and seasoned lettuce among them. There was also a range of wasabi, salt, and dipping sauces so you could mix and match to your taste!

The complimentary miyeokguk (seaweed soup) was also surprisingly generous with seaweed and deeply savory — we were pleasantly surprised the moment we tried it!
How does the hanwoo galbisal taste? Salt vs wasabi vs house sauce

We started with the hanwoo galbisal on the grill. The marbling looked fresh and vivid at a glance, and the taste lived up to expectations — highly recommend! It was cut moderately thick and packed with juice, so it was moist yet melted in the mouth — the best.

Since it's 1++ hanwoo, the nutty flavor really came through. To taste the meat itself first, we started with just a light dip of salt. Then we tried it with a bit of wasabi, or paired with the seasoned lettuce and ssamjang (dipping paste). Even with the same cut of galbisal, the flavor changed depending on the sides and sauce, so it never got boring until the end.

We also tried it with Dolgyeok Hanwoo's house-made sauce, which made the beef flavor cleaner while still bringing out more of its aroma — a great match. If you're weighing options for a Jeju Yeondong restaurant, I'd recommend beef specialist Dolgyeok Hanwoo!
Cubed black pork jowl: how it differs from the hanwoo

It felt like a shame to only eat hanwoo, so we also ordered the black pork cubed jowl. Being able to compare beef and black pork side by side made the menu feel even more varied. Where the hanwoo galbisal was great for its nutty flavor, the black pork cubed jowl was fun for the way you slowly grill the thick pieces!

Pairing it with wrap greens and seasoned lettuce made it taste even cleaner than eating the meat on its own. If hanwoo is more mild, black pork has a different charm — its juices are more savory. It's jowl meat, but it wasn't dry at all — soft with a great chew, highly recommend!

Sacheon jjajang jjapageti and hanwoo doenjang sulbap to finish
We wanted to try noodles alongside the beef, so we ordered the Sacheon jjajang jjapageti (Korean black bean noodle dish). We were expecting a regular jjapageti, but the springy, chewy noodles and hearty ingredients made it feel like we'd stepped into a Chinese restaurant — a nice surprise.

The rich jjajang flavor paired well with the beef, and having the meat juices mixed into the black bean sauce made it much richer and more addictive than eating the noodles alone!

The hanwoo doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) had a clearly deep doenjang flavor. Not only was the broth rich, but there was also more hanwoo beef in it than expected — a nice surprise! Even after ordering plenty of meat and side dishes, we kept going back for more of the hot doenjang sulbap. The nutty flavor and savory doenjang broth made for a hearty way to finish the meal.
Is Dolgyeok Hanwoo worth a Jeju dinner? Final verdict
That wraps up our review of Dolgyeok Hanwoo, a Jeju Yeondong favorite. It was great to be able to enjoy everything from 1++ hanwoo and black pork cubed jowl to jjapageti and hanwoo doenjang sulbap all in one place. If you're looking for a restaurant near Yeondong, close to Jeju Airport, where you can eat both beef and black pork together, I'd recommend Dolgyeok Hanwoo!
