Jeju Airport black pork restaurant if you can't stand meljeot: Pork80
In short
Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a black pork restaurant on Nohyeon-ro in Jeju City that specializes in Nanchuk Matdon, Jeju's native black pork breed. The writer had always avoided black pork because of the smell of meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), but wrapping Pork80's milder meljorim (braised anchovies) in grilled scallions changed that completely, and staff grilled the first round at the table. Pork80 is 10–15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with its own lot beside the restaurant and a parking voucher, so it slots easily into an arrival or departure day.

When you visit Jeju, you've got to eat black pork at least once, right? While looking for a good black pork spot near Jeju Airport, I ended up at Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch, which Choiza recommended. It's known for Nanchuk Matdon, Jeju's native black pork breed, as its signature dish, so I went in with high expectations.

What Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch looks like inside

The sign on the wall caught my eye right away — it said that for the most delicious first bite, staff grill the first batch themselves, without any sauce added. Sure enough, as soon as we sat down, a staff member came over and grilled the first batch for us! I saw some reviews complaining that they only grill the first batch and calling the service lackluster, but did they just miss the sign? I thought the staff were super kind and the service was great 🤍😇🤍

The restaurant is really spacious! I loved that the tables were spread far apart haha.

The clean, retro vibe made it fun just to look around ☺️
The bathroom was spotless too! I love places that even have mouthwash haha. That kind of attention to small details 🤍😭
Pork80's Jeju black pork menu

We booked through Naver Reservation, and they had everything pre-set for us when we arrived!

Meljorim instead of meljeot, and side dishes worth the table
Just look at the side dishes 😭 A place that serves seasoned raw crab as a banchan? That's rare, so rare 👏🏻😇👏🏻
But you guys, Pork80's meljorim (simmered anchovy) is the real star 😭🤍 I normally avoid meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) because of its distinct smell, but this wasn't meljeot at all — it's anchovies simmered down into meljorim, and it was a completely different experience. Savory with zero fishy taste. I'm someone who's never once wanted to try it my whole life, but I absolutely want to eat Pork80's meljorim again 🤤

There's tofu in it too — great for mixing into rice!

The Nanchuk Matdon single plate at Pork80
We ordered Pork80's signature dish, the Nanchuk Matdon single plate. It's Jeju's native black pork breed, and even raw, you could see the marbling was alive. The scallions served alongside end up being the real kicker later.

Whoa, just look at how gorgeous the meat looks 👏🏻

A staff member grills the meat for you, and it's so cute, lol — they line the pieces up neatly to cook them evenly haha.

Then they dip the Nanchuk Matdon pieces in matching sauces one by one and lay them out in order — my particular recommendation is wrapping a piece in grilled scallion with meljorim, seriously a total kicker 🤤

I want to eat it again already, seriously so good.

How to eat Pork80's black pork: grilled scallions and matcha salt
Pork80 actually has instructions on the menu for how to enjoy the meat best:
- 1. Dip it in matcha salt only, to taste the meat's natural flavor
- 2. Add pickled peppers or fresh wasabi for a lighter taste
- 3. Finish by dipping generously in meljorim with grilled scallion
Highly recommend step 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That green powder is matcha salt! It has a surprisingly subtle matcha aroma that made it really tasty. After finishing the meat, we mixed the leftover meljorim into rice, and that was another amazing combo. (I didn't take a photo of the rice since it looked messy haha.)
Final verdict on Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch

If you've been hesitant about black pork because of meljeot, Pork80's meljorim might just change your mind entirely 🤍 If you want black pork during your Jeju trip but don't want to travel far from the airport, or if you're looking for a good restaurant near Jeju Airport, give Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch a try. The easy parking made planning our route simple too 🐷
