The writer ordered the Tteudon Pork Cutlet and Tteudon Cheese Cutlet, watched the mozzarella cheese stretch, and even turned the free bread and salad from the self-bar into a homemade pork cutlet burger. With tteokbokki, udon broth, soup, and ice cream also on the self-bar, it's a filling, generous lunch spot.

This time I suddenly had a craving for pork cutlet, so I went to Tteudon near Magok Station.

Look at that visual first. Big and delicious-looking just from the photo, right? Tteudon Magok Branch has more than just the Tteudon Pork Cutlet — there's kongguksu (chilled soy milk noodles), pasta, cheese cutlet, panmemil (buckwheat noodles), kimchi rice bowl, udon, and more, so you can pick whatever fits your mood. Whoever you go with, there's a wide menu to choose from.

To sum it up first

  • The Tteudon Cheese Cutlet was great because the mozzarella cheese stretched so much.
  • The signature Tteudon Pork Cutlet came with a slightly sweet sauce.
  • The self-bar has udon broth, side dishes, tteokbokki, soup, and even ice cream for dessert.

What's the vibe like?

The seating inside is spacious with plenty of tables — good for family gatherings, friends, or coworker get-togethers. We got lucky and sat by the window. It was crowded, so we couldn't photograph the interior from many angles, but there seemed to be a mix of office workers, friend groups, and all kinds of other customers.

The space extends pretty far back too, so it looks like a comfortable spot for families or couples to eat.

We started by ordering one Tteudon Pork Cutlet and one Tteudon Cheese Cutlet.

The cutlets are huge, and the portions are generous too, right? They come with salad and corn kernels.

Thinking it would taste better while warm, I cut into the cheese cutlet first, and the mozzarella cheese stretched out looong. It went together really nicely with the cutlet — savory and delicious.

The signature Tteudon Pork Cutlet was also huge, with a generous portion, and I was completely full after finishing it!

They give out free bread here, so you can put the cutlet and salad into the bread and eat it like a sandwich(?)! If eating pork cutlet alone feels a bit repetitive, this new way of eating it is a fun twist.

What's at the self-bar?

Head to the self-bar first and you'll find tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pickles, danmuji (pickled radish), kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), and more. You can grab these freely while waiting for your cutlet to come out!

There's also bread and strawberry jam, so if pork cutlet alone feels lacking, you can wrap it all together like a burger!

Salt, pepper, and other seasonings are also stocked here.

If you're craving something warm and brothy, you can help yourself to udon broth too!

There's also a classic Western-style soup kept warm in an insulated pot. Savory and satisfying.

There's a generous amount of tteokbokki made with wheat rice cakes too, so if you're hungry at lunchtime, there's plenty to snack on!
