Inside the Songridan-gil basement: chandeliers and plaster columns

I was craving pizza, so I went to Pizza Never Sleeps Seokchon Lake branch, well known as a Songridan-gil favorite.

The store is on the basement level of the building.

Going down the stairs, I noticed there were even waiting chairs set up outside the store. Once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how unique the atmosphere felt for a pizza place.

Several large chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and they're big enough that they come down close to the seats.

The walls are covered in ornate wallpaper and antique framed pictures, so overall it felt like walking into an old, elegant mansion. There are also large plaster columns dotted around the space, giving it the feel of an old European mansion. The tables were spaced generously too, so it was comfortable to sit and eat.

In the self-bar area on one side, there are phone charging cables, which looked handy for whenever your battery runs low.

Tablet menu: how do you pick a half-and-half combination?

I sat down and browsed the menu on the tablet at the table. There were far more pizza varieties than I expected — I kept scrolling and it just wouldn't end.

There was everything from a basic potato pizza to Chicken Never Sleeps, Corn Brown, Cheese, Double Pepperoni, Minari Samgyeop Gochujang, and Mac Night pizza. There were also plenty of half-and-half combinations, letting you enjoy two flavors at once, available in both regular and large sizes.

Side menu items included truffle pasta, Never Sleeps balls, French fries, buffalo wings, and barbecue wings, plus a wide range of drinks and alcohol.

Since I wanted to try two flavors together, I ordered a regular-size half-and-half pizza combining Mac Night and Double Pepperoni. For drinks, I chose two zero-sugar Sprites and one zero-sugar Coke. Please check the attached menu photos for the full menu and prices!

Mac Night and Double Pepperoni half-and-half regular: taste and portion size

The zero-sugar drinks and the Mac Night / Double Pepperoni half-and-half pizza arrived.

I'd ordered the regular size, and I was surprised at how much bigger it was than a typical regular pizza. It was just the right amount for 2 to 3 adults to share.

True to its name, the Double Pepperoni had pepperoni ham packed densely across the dough with no gaps. There was plenty of cheese too, so the savory flavor really came through, and the salty pepperoni paired well with the cheese. The dough itself was chewy and not too thick, more like a thin crust, so it stayed enjoyable to eat without getting heavy all the way to the end.

The Mac Night pizza came topped generously with mac and cheese. I usually love mac and cheese, so I had high expectations, and it didn't disappoint — it wasn't greasy, just filled my mouth with savory richness, which suited my taste perfectly. The mac and cheese topping paired really well with the chewy dough texture.

Overall, the dough thickness was just right and the toppings were generous — it was really delicious. I'd recommend Pizza Never Sleeps to anyone looking for a pizza place with great atmosphere near Seokchon Lake, anyone who loves pizza loaded with toppings, or anyone searching for a Songridan-gil favorite!
