Puttanesca and prosciutto potato salad at Allegro, Songpa

Today's story is about Allegro, an Italian dining spot where you can enjoy delicious food together with a live jazz performance :) It has pasta, steak, and wine all in one place, so it was a great pick when I wanted a meal with a different kind of atmosphere.

Allegro was pretty accessible, about a 3-minute walk from Songparu Station, and it's on the 3rd floor of a newly built building.
Step out of the elevator and you're greeted by a stylish poster showing September's lineup of performers.
Hall seats or terrace seats — which is better?
You can choose between hall and terrace seating. I booked a hall seat since I wanted to watch the jazz performance.
Show times, live charge, and lunch happy hour
The performance runs in two sets: 19:30–20:10 (40 minutes) and 20:25–21:05 (40 minutes). The live charge is ₩10,000 per person on weekdays and ₩15,000 on Fridays and Saturdays :) There was also a lunch happy hour event running — ₩16,000 pasta and 15% off the entire menu.
The menu could be ordered from tablets set up at the table. Each item came with a photo and description, so it was easy to choose even on a first visit.
The wine selection was quite varied too. Both red and white were available by the glass, at ₩12,000 each.
What we ordered for two
I ordered the live charge for two (₩20,000), sous-vide pork shoulder steak (₩33,000), prosciutto potato salad (₩18,000), puttanesca (₩19,000), and two glasses of red wine (₩24,000)!
Glass of red wine, Terroir Pays Cachet
Dinner started properly with the red wine we ordered! Not too sweet, with tannins that weren't too strong, the Terroir Pays Cachet paired well with pretty much everything on the table :) It went nicely with both the pasta and the steak.
Pre-meal bread: house-made focaccia
Focaccia came out as the pre-meal bread. Because it's house-made, the texture was soft and fluffy! It was even better eaten warm, haha.

Prosciutto potato salad
The prosciutto potato salad is a Piedmont-style salad with potatoes tossed in cream cheese and horseradish sauce, topped with prosciutto.
The nutty potatoes dipped in the sauce were delicious, and eating them with the prosciutto added a salty note that worked really well. A great, light dish to pair with wine!
Puttanesca
The puttanesca is an oil-based pasta capturing the Neapolitan flavors of olive, anchovy, caper, and tomato.
It was my first time trying pasta with anchovies in it, so I was a little worried, but it wasn't fishy at all — the oil base kept it clean and light.
With arugula, eggplant, and olives all mixed in, the way the ingredients came together was great, and personally, this was my favorite of the three dishes, haha.
Sous-vide pork shoulder steak
The sous-vide pork shoulder steak is made with domestic pork shoulder (300g), sous-vide cooked, then seared crispy and served with peppercorn sauce.
Maybe because it was sous-vide, the pork shoulder wasn't dry at all — both the lean meat and fat were tender. And the portion was fairly generous too, so it was good to share between two, haha.
The peppercorn sauce was so creamy and delicious, and it went really well with the meat, haha.
With the jazz performance alongside, it was a time that pleased both the eyes and the mouth :)
Jazz even in the restroom — the little details
Inside there are separate restrooms for men and women, kept neat and clean. They even had mouthwash ready, which was nice to use after the meal. Fitting for a dining restaurant with live jazz, speakers were even installed inside the restroom, playing music softly — it felt like they'd thought about every little detail, haha.
When is a good day to visit Allegro?
Allegro let me enjoy a delicious meal alongside a jazz performance, making for an evening a bit different from usual :) The menu range was solid, from pasta and steak to salad and wine, and best of all was being able to enjoy the live performance comfortably while eating. It's easy to get to from Songparu Station, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for a good restaurant in Songpa, or want to visit on a day when you want to set a special mood, like a date or an anniversary :)
