Bangi-dong gopchang restaurant with kkakdugi yangbap: Jinseong
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is a long-running beef gopchang and daechang restaurant in the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul. Writing a name on the storefront glass put this visit at number 13, but earlier groups left and the table came up fifth, with beef gopchang and beef daechang joined by 9,000 won kkakdugi yangbap (rice fried with radish kimchi) and 6,000 won anchovy noodles. Three kinds of house-made kimchi, the minari pickled-garlic sauce (mijeolma) and a complimentary steamed egg make the wait at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang worth it.

A look inside and outside Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang

Ueongi here 〃'ᴗ'〃 Did you know Jamsil has a ton of amazing gopchang (beef intestine) restaurants? Among them, I went to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, the top-waiting spot in the Bangi-dong food alley! There were so many people out front in this photo that I erased them all with AI haha, sorry.

How the wait works: writing your name on the storefront glass
Waiting at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is simple. You write your name in order on the glass in front of the store. But since they call you out loud, you really need to be waiting nearby! I was number 13, but so many people ahead of me had disappeared that I think I got in as the fifth person lol. The wait is unavoidable, but it's worth it for this Bangi-dong beef gopchang spot.

Inside the restaurant and what is on the menu
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang has that old-school restaurant feel in spades. It's a cozy space with about 10 tables, and it was packed full of locals.
The menu is simple — a single-focus lineup: gopchang / daechang (large intestine) / makchang (rectum), plus yangbap (fried rice) and anchovy noodles for dessert! As a value-priced beef gopchang spot, the prices are kind too, making it one of the standout picks among Bangi-dong food alley restaurants.
💛 Today's Ueongi pick — beef gopchang ₩19,000 / beef daechang ₩19,000 / kkakdugi yangbap ₩9,000 / anchovy noodles ₩6,000

Three house-made kimchi, mijeolma sauce and free steamed egg
Gopchang really needs solid side dishes to back it up so you can eat plenty. Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang gives you three kinds of house-made kimchi to pair with the gopchang for a tangy-sweet balance.

And this... minari-pickle garlic sauce (mijeolma)!! This side dish alone is reason enough to come back. They give one per person, and you can ask for more if you run out — when you come here, definitely ask for extra 👍🏻 There's some kind of magic where anything you dip in this becomes delicious.

As a complimentary side, they also bring out steamed egg custard as soft as a Japanese egg pudding. This kind of thoughtful service is what makes it feel like a place that gives generously.

Staff grill the beef gopchang and daechang at your table
At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, the gopchang and daechang come out pre-boiled once! Staff grill everything for you, so you just get to chat happily with your friends haha.

I hadn't eaten lunch that day so I ordered the kkakdugi yangbap right away. It comes out on a hot plate, and once you mix it in, you even get to enjoy the crispy scorched rice at the bottom. Totally recommended!!

Seeing the whole spread laid out, you just feel powerful, don't you?... A Bangi-dong beef gopchang meal can't go without a drink, so of course we ordered one, heh.

They even bring you a splatter guard so the oil doesn't spray — such a nice touch! Details like this are the true mark of a place that gives generously 💛 They grill everything golden and delicious, and once it's all cooked, they turn the heat down low so you can just enjoy.

How does the beef gopchang taste?
The gopchang is so fresh that eating it with the mijeolma sauce makes you regret only ordering one portion ㅠㅠ The tripe has this savory quality that's totally my style. Even among Bangi-dong food alley restaurants, this level of freshness for Bangi-dong beef gopchang is genuinely rare.

The daechang has just the right amount of fat rendered out, and it's genuinely delicious. Why is it that daechang is the food that makes you gain weight? Everything tasty makes you fat ㅠㅠ

The potatoes are also a total delicacy! You can really feel the magic here where dipping anything in mijeolma makes it delicious lol.

Finishing with 6,000 won anchovy noodles
I ordered the anchovy noodles to finish. With egg, seaweed flakes, and fried tofu skin thrown in, the hot broth cuts right through the greasiness — highly recommended for this too!

The noodles are really chewy and the portion is generous, making Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang the kind of place that has you ordering both side dishes lol. A value-priced beef gopchang paired with perfect sides — what a combo~
Is Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang worth the wait?
There's a reason Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang has the longest wait among Bangi-dong food alley restaurants. With three kinds of house-made kimchi, minari-pickle garlic sauce, and steamed egg custard on top, it really is a place that gives generously through and through — I had a genuinely happy time there~
