Spicy chicken karaage in a weekend set for two at Gapposo, Gasan
In short
Gapposo is a sushi-focused Japanese restaurant in Geumcheon, Seoul, run by a chef who previously headed the Japanese kitchen at a 5-star hotel, a 6-minute walk from Exit 8 of Gasan Digital Complex Station. Visiting on a weekend afternoon, the writer tried the ₩49,000 weekend set for two — kaisendon, unagidon, six pieces of sushi, karaage and udon — and found the spicy-savory chicken karaage the standout, its bold seasoning even cutting through the richness of the other dishes. With wood-tone interiors and both two- and four-seat tables, it's a solid pick for a date or small gathering.

Gapposo is a 6-minute walk from Exit 8 of Gasan Digital Complex Station, so it's really convenient to visit by public transit -!

There's a menu board at the entrance so you can check the menu and prices beforehand and walk in comfortably .ᐟ

The lunch omakase is being offered at a great price of ₩29,000! It seems like a really good spot for nearby office workers to come for lunch! ໒꒱

Weekend daytime atmosphere and seating
We visited after noon on a weekend and were lucky enough to capture the shop's relaxed atmosphere - εïз As some time passed, we watched the empty seats fill up and realized why it's such a popular Japanese restaurant!

The interior overall has warm wood tones and soft lighting as its highlight, giving it a cozy, calm atmosphere - ✶ 。˚

There are various tables for 2 and 4, so it's comfortable whether you're dining alone or with a small group!

So much Japanese atmosphere here -🏮˖*
The menu board — weekday and weekend menus differ

The weekend set for two truly comes with a varied, generous lineup — kaisendon, unagidon, sushi, karaage, and udon -! The plating is honestly a work of art ..🤍

Six pieces of sushi and udon
The sushi selection changes a bit day to day; when we visited we got two pieces each of white fish, salmon, and futomaki (thick seaweed roll) - εïз

Dipping the sushi in soy sauce with a bit of ginger on top made it clean-tasting, and it melted in the mouth! The futomaki filled the whole bite too!
They also served a rich-broth udon with plump noodles alongside -!

Kaisendon
The kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) has various seafood piled on rice, so you can enjoy a variety of flavors in one bowl! They also give you soy sauce to pour so you can season it to your taste!
Generous in portion, fresh, and cleanly aged with zero fishy smell — the seafood combination was perfect - ✶
Tuna belly and flying fish roe on top of the rice, one bite and gone! The moment it hits your mouth it melts, so smooth and savory! ( ⸝⸝•。•⸝⸝ )♥

Unagidon
The unagidon (grilled eel rice bowl) has glossy freshwater eel on top of the rice, with sweet egg layered underneath .ᐟ The thick eel had no greasiness or fishy taste, and the sweet-savory sauce soaked all the way through, making it wonderfully tender!

Adding a little shredded ginger and wasabi on top brought the flavors into perfect balance!

The spicy chicken karaage is the standout dish
The spicy chicken karaage is crispy fried karaage coated in a spicy, salty sauce — perfect even from the smell! Underneath sits a bed of shrimp chips!

The bold seasoning even cuts through the richness of the other dishes, and the sweet-spicy Chinese-style flavor keeps you reaching for more .ᐟ This is genuinely the standout dish, so make sure to order it!!

If you take part in the Naver receipt review event, you can get a free canned drink, so keep that in mind when you visit!

With its varied sets for two, Gapposo delivered both on taste and value - ໒꒱ If you're looking for a great Japanese restaurant for a date near Gadi, I recommend Gapposo!
