I heard there's a bakery in Mangwon that was featured on Master in the House, so I went straight to Boulangerie Copain to pick up some delicious bread as part of my Mangwon bakery-hopping route.

Living up to their reputation as baguette and croissant masters, the variety of breads was impressive. Salt bread, chestnut bread, cream bread — all crowd favorites. Let's start the review of Boulangerie Copain in Mangwon-dong!
Where is Boulangerie Copain? Hours and parking in Mangwon-dong
Boulangerie Copain is on the 1st floor at 115 Huiujeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Parking is paid (₩150 for the first 10 minutes, max ₩20,000), and takeout, delivery, and Zero Pay payment are all available.

This Mangwon bakery-hopping spot isn't far from Mangwon Hangang Park or Mangwon Station, so I heard a lot of people come specifically for a bakery tour.

Boulangerie Copain in particular was recognized on Master in the House as a baguette and croissant master, so people come from far away just for that.
What bread does Boulangerie Copain sell, from croissants to sandwiches?
The display case had classic croissants, chocolate banana croissants, financiers, campagne, garlic cheese balls, basil crunch, and even sandwiches. The croissants — their specialty — caught my eye first.

True to a Mangwon bakery-hopping spot, alongside the classic croissant there was also a chocolate banana croissant filled with chocolate and banana.

There was also lemon cake, financiers, and fig financiers — perfect with a cup of coffee.

There was also campagne, in the style of French countryside bread.

Garlic cheese balls with garlic sauce and cream cheese, and tomato olive danish, both looked delicious!

The crunchy bagel-style basil crunch, and raspberry almond croissants packed with tangy raspberry and almonds, looked tasty too, right?

And Boulangerie Copain is also great for a casual brunch — they sell sandwiches too!!

There were several kinds of sandwiches on offer, so there's an option for every taste.

If you're someone who thinks the classic croissant is best, try the ₩4,500 croissant.

The sweet mango danish and pain suisse, which kids would love, are also popular menu items at Boulangerie Copain.

If you like salt bread, there are two kinds — the moist classic salt bread and the milk salt bread filled with milk cream — so you can pick whichever you prefer.

By the way, if you're on a Boulangerie Copain bakery pilgrimage, try the chestnut bread too — it's packed with chestnuts. I had it last time, and I really never get tired of it.

This time from Boulangerie Copain I picked up five items: chestnut bread ₩7,000, croissant ₩4,500, milk salt bread ₩3,500, castella cream bread ₩5,000, and mini brioche (loaf) ₩4,500.

- Castella cream bread ₩5,000
- Mini brioche (loaf) ₩4,500
I bought five kinds of bread at Boulangerie Copain, one of the spots on my Mangwon bakery-hopping list.

The chestnut bread that was delicious last time was a repeat buy. And of course I had to bring home the croissant too — this place is famous for it.

Croissant, 4,500 won
Boulangerie Copain's croissant is ₩4,500, crispy outside and moist inside. It's no wonder they're a Master in the House bakery — a taste you keep wanting more of.

Milk salt bread, 3,500 won
I debated between the regular salt bread and the milk salt bread, then went with the one filled with milk cream — nutty and sweet at the same time.

Castella cream bread, 5,000 won
Castella cream bread — a favorite for all ages. The outside is covered in sweet castella crumbs, and it's filled with milk cream inside. Perfect for a snack.

Chestnut bread, 7,000 won
This is the bread you have to try when you visit Boulangerie Copain — the chestnut bread. It's really packed with chestnuts, isn't it? Fun to tear apart and eat, with a nutty, hearty flavor throughout.

Mini brioche, 4,500 won
Brioche is the classic tear-and-share bread, and this mini size is perfect for 1–2 people. If you're looking for a Mangwon bakery-hopping spot like me, visit Boulangerie Copain in Mangwon-dong and try everything from the croissant to the chestnut bread!
