Yeongdeungpo izakaya with a library 1F and mansion rooms: Nani
In short
Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch is an izakaya about a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Yeongdeungpo Station in Seoul, with a study-like first floor and second-floor rooms styled like a grand mansion. The order was an Earl Grey highball at 9,000 won, pork belly and scallion skewers at 15,000 won, daechang (beef intestine) skewers at 12,000 won and beef tataki at 29,000 won, eaten in turn with the highball. For a Yeongdeungpo date that wants a private table plus food worth the price, Nani Byeolgwan delivers both.

When a chaotic week finally winds down into evening, nothing feels more like real healing than good food and a drink in a cozy, atmospheric space 🍸 Today I visited Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch (나니별관 영등포점), which has been getting a lot of buzz near Yeongdeungpo Station for its distinctive interior and upscale mood.

Bar seats and the library-style first floor at Nani Byeolgwan
The first thing that greets guests at Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch is a sleek bar area bathed in soft, cozy orange lighting. It looked like a lovely spot for solo drinking or for a couple to sit side by side and chat quietly.

Past this bar area and a little further inside, the interior opens up into a surprising space that looks exactly like an upscale library.

With deep wood-toned bookshelves and stylish props placed throughout, it felt less like a bar and more like an elegant private book club or lounge. The mood was so upscale that the place was already filled with couples clearly there to enjoy some quality time.

How private are the second-floor mansion rooms?
Nani Byeolgwan also runs a second-floor space, and climbing the stairs up, you're hit with a luxurious mood, like being invited into a wealthy family's living room or a grand mansion.

Walls are arranged harmoniously between spaces and there are separate rooms too, so you can focus on your own conversation without worrying about people around you — the sense of privacy was excellent!

Looking down from the second floor also gave a great view of the layout's depth — really impressive. We settled in, already won over by this cozy, special mood.

Earl Grey highball, 9,000 won, with complimentary raw cabbage
Looking over the menu at our table, it was clear this is a premium izakaya — highballs, sake, traditional liquors, a really wide lineup. It seemed built to satisfy everyone, from light drinkers to serious deep-flavor drinkers. We went with the Earl Grey highball (₩9,000), known for its sweet-bitter charm.

Once you order, crisp, cool raw cabbage comes out as a complimentary side — clean and light, perfect for nibbling before the main dishes arrive.
A little while later, the Earl Grey highball showed up, topped with a lemon slice that looked refreshing just to see.
Clinking glasses with my friend and taking a sip, the delicate Earl Grey tea aroma, the depth of the whiskey, and the fizz of the soda hit a fantastic balance haha. So good...
Pork belly and scallion skewers, 15,000 won: worth the scallion breath
Next came the high-quality grilled skewers Nani Byeolgwan is known for, one after another.

First up, the pork belly scallion skewers (₩15,000) 🔥 One bite in, and I let out an involuntary "whoa..."
Inside the savory pork belly, tangy fresh scallions are rolled in tightly, edge to edge, and grilled. The scallions packed inside brilliantly cut through the pork belly's rich juiciness and fattiness, so there was zero greasiness!
The more you chew, the more the scallion's subtle sweetness blends with the pork's savoriness — seriously addictive. The only catch: after eating, your breath does carry a bit of that delicious scallion smell haha, but it's a must-order dish even accounting for that.

Daechang (beef intestine) skewers, 12,000 won
Next up were the daechang (beef intestine) skewers (₩12,000), grilled crispy on the outside and moist inside, keeping the intestine's rich, melty texture fully intact.
The more you chew, the more the savory fattiness of the daechang comes through... so good.
These skewers are delicious on their own, but next time I'd love to pair them with a spicy, fiery nabe (hot pot) and enjoy them alongside the broth — I think it'd be an even more perfect combo.

Beef tataki, 29,000 won, paired with the highball
Following the skewers, the beef tataki (₩29,000) arrived, taking the table to its most impressive moment yet. On a wide plate, red slices of beef seared just on the surface to a perfect medium-rare were fanned out neatly like flower petals — it looked delicious before I even tasted it.
I carefully picked up a slice, added a touch of wasabi, dipped it in soy sauce, and tried it. The outside carried a mild charcoal aroma, savory and smoky, while the tender interior practically melted in my mouth after just a couple chews! Alternating bites with the crisp, fragrant Earl Grey highball, this magical, upscale side dish just kept disappearing haha.
Is Nani Byeolgwan a good stop on a Yeongdeungpo date?
Dinner at Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, moving between that upscale library and grand mansion mood, delivered from start to finish — juicy handmade skewers, beef tataki that melted in the mouth, and a refreshing highball made for a fully satisfying evening.
It felt genuinely special to find a place like this tucked into Yeongdeungpo's busy alleys, where you can enjoy Japanese-style food so privately and elegantly 🍸 If you're looking to complete a stylish Yeongdeungpo date with your partner this coming weekend, or want a quiet, private room to share quality drinks and food with people who matter to you, I'd recommend Nani Byeolgwan without hesitation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
