If you’re looking for a quiet second round after a birthday party

After Sume’s grand birthday party because she said she wanted to have one at Outback, we came to this lovely new cocktail bar, Sidebar in Pop (사이드바 인 팝) in Nonhyeon, because we wanted to sit somewhere quiet and chat away. It’s close to Sinnonhyeon Station, with lots of bars nearby, so it is very, very suitable for a second round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A space where even the music and scent were perfect

Maybe because it has only just opened, but it was so comfortable and clean, the music was good, and above all, it smelled amazing.. haha. In noisy, rowdy Gangnam and the Sinnonhyeon area, a bar this clean and fragrant,,, They even played music videos on a projector, and the R&B and hip-hop were lively enough without being loud, which completely met our needs.

You can sit at the bar like this, and since there were three of us, we sat at a regular table.

The birthday second round you start seeking after thirty

We used to throw loud birthday parties, but after turning thirty, we’ve gradually started looking for quieter places,,,, She said she wanted to try having the staff sing at an Outback birthday party, so we had a fairly grand celebration before moving on. Thanks to her, I got to see something fun too lol.

Anyway, the second round needs to be quiet but still have a vibe, with just the right amount of music. Big thank-you to Sidebar in Pop for hitting all three.

Light sips of whiskey and tequila

We each had a glass of whiskey. I forget what we started with,, maybe Glenlivet,,, There was a wide range of drinks, including whiskey and cocktails, so I wanted to try all sorts of things, but we had already filled up on steak and pasta at our first stop, so I just wanted to lightly sip a drink.

The lighting was exactly bright enough for pretty photos, so I think it would be perfect for a date or a blind date too,, I’ll test that out next time (?)

Since we’re exactly in that worry-filled early-thirties stage, we decided to call it the ‘thirty-something puberty’.. (We never said that..) Anyway, it was amazing how Sume’s worries lately overlapped so much with mine. Even if every stage of life has its worries, how could the direction of our worries be this specifically alike? Maybe that’s why we’re friends.

Anyway, I learned that these are the worries you carry around when you’re about thirty,, while Yujeong, who doesn’t have those worries, has worries about work,, I guess everyone lives while developing the worries that represent their own stage of life. So don’t be sad just because you have worries ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How is this possible—because it’s a dog-friendly cocktail bar, you can meet cute guests like this tooㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Can’t we share a table? Look at the menu, pick something, I’ll buy it for you, will you come to me..

Honestly, this dog was partly why we ended up having another drink. I like animals more and more as time goes on, probably haha. Nothing is as harmless and lovable as animals. Humans, reflect on yourselves.

Friday night, and the ending with one more drink

We considered going home.. but even if we were tired, going home at nine on a Friday would hurt our pride, right? So we had another whiskey each and went home at ten... That was... the ending..

They gave us pretzels and chocolate too, and every member of staff was so kind that I really want to come back next time, hehe. When you want a modest drink but are tired of crowded spaces and noise,, I recommend Sidebar in Pop as a quiet Nonhyeon bar, and I’ll be off now..
