There are tons of restaurants in Magok, but it's surprisingly hard to find one with reasonable prices, generous portions, and a relaxed vibe. Today I'm introducing a total budget-friendly find in Magok — a pork cutlet spot near Seoul Botanic Park! Let's get into it~
Where is Tteudon Magok Branch, and what should you know before going?

Tteudon Magok is on the 2nd floor of the building. As soon as you walk in, there's a bright, well-arranged, spacious hall. I'd heard it's near Seoul Botanic Park and has a playroom, so it's great for going with kids — and sure enough, I saw plenty of families rolling in with strollers.
The tables were spaced out enough that even navigating with a stroller looked easy. Looks like a good spot for a Magok family meal with kids.

There were so many menu options I didn't know what to pick. True to a cutlet specialty restaurant, there were tons of cutlet dishes, plus lots of pasta and rice-bowl options. After much deliberation, we went with the chicken cutlet — apparently the best-seller — and the cheese cutlet, which is always my personal favorite!
What's at the free self-bar? Unlimited cream soup and tteokbokki
After ordering, I wandered around the restaurant — the thing I was most looking forward to was the self-bar with unlimited bread, ice cream, and soup! Most Magok cutlet places just give you a light broth or kimchi at best, but Tteudon Magok has unlimited soft cream soup and tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) too, which I really loved.
There was also udon broth, pickles, and kimchi that you can help yourself to as much as you want without feeling awkward about it.
What is the kids' playroom at Tteudon Magok Branch like?
After checking out the self-bar, I went to see the playroom at Tteudon Magok. It's not huge, but it's a good size for kids to play together, with arcade games, toys, and dolls. Having a place for kids to play while parents eat is so convenient~ It really does seem like a great restaurant to visit with kids in Magok.
Before the food arrived, I grabbed a bit from the self-bar to try — the cream soup is my personal favorite so I went back for two or three more helpings, and the tteokbokki was just as good as what you'd get at a dedicated tteokbokki shop. It didn't feel like they just made a batch and left it sitting there — it seemed like they were remaking it fresh at intervals.

Chicken cutlet and cheese cutlet: how big are the portions?
While I was busy eating from the self-bar corner, Tteudon's signature chicken cutlet and cheese cutlet arrived.
The plates they're served on are pretty big, and the cutlets fill them completely. The portions were huge — definitely lived up to its reputation as a budget-friendly find in Magok!
The meat was really thick and generous — and the moment you cut into the cheese cutlet with a knife, mozzarella cheese comes pouring out ㅠㅠ
The sauce served with the chicken cutlet was spicy enough that it never got boring — I kept dipping into it.
Can you pack up leftovers yourself at Tteudon Magok Branch?
Even after eating my heart out, there was still food left over — probably because I loaded up so much at the self-bar. But Tteudon Magok has self-serve to-go containers set up so you can comfortably pack up leftovers yourself without worrying about staff watching. I reheated it the next day and it was still crispy and delicious!
After finishing the meal, you've got to wrap it up with cool, sweet ice cream. Here you can scoop as much as you want, unlimited. The green tea flavor was especially good haha
