Minamochi the grilled-fish-lover has arrived!!! Having a nice cozy lunch date with my daughter is one of my small happinesses 💕 She likes fish too, but her eyes really light up for spicy stir-fried pork haha.

But wait — is there really a place where you can enjoy grilled fish AND unlimited spicy pork refills from a self-serve bar?! That's a combo I simply cannot pass up!! So off we went haha. Today's post: my review of Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo, a grilled fish restaurant in Asan Tangjeong. Let's go 💓

Where is Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo in Tangjeong, Asan, and where do you park?

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Artbox building near Tangjeong Station. This used to be the spot for Modeui Pyeonbaekjip, but at some point it turned into a grilled fish restaurant.

We parked in the building's underground lot! There was plenty of parking space, and you can register for 2 hours of free parking when you dine at the restaurant, so it was a convenient park-and-eat situation. Take the elevator up to the 2nd floor and you're there!

Inside Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo and how kiosk ordering works

The interior of Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is quite spacious, with generously spaced tables! The roomy layout made it feel comfortable, and the air conditioning was nice and cool, so we could eat at ease.

The menu has all kinds of grilled fish sets — mackerel, atka mackerel, Spanish mackerel — plus value combos! The grilled mackerel set is 16,000 won, and ordering just the grilled fish still gets you unlimited refills from the 15-dish self-serve corner ✨ There's also a Korean set meal without grilled fish that only uses the self-serve bar, so there's a wide range of choices.

We ordered the seasoned grilled mackerel set for 16,000 won and the Jeju grilled hairtail set for 19,000 won! Together, that's 35,000 won 💓 Steamed rice comes standard, and you can upgrade to pot rice for an extra 1,000 won.

What's in the 15-dish self-serve corner?

After ordering, the soup, rice, and an empty plate get set out first. Take the plate to the self-serve corner and load up on as many side dishes as you like!!

The self-serve corner has everything you'd need to make bibimbap (mixed rice bowl) — seasoned vegetables and all sorts of side dishes. Radish salad, bean sprouts, seasoned lotus root, garlic scapes, plus kimchi and lettuce wraps +.+ You can pick whatever suits your taste and go back for more if you run out, which I loved 💓

And on top of that, my absolute favorite — spicy stir-fried pork — is unlimited refill too!

There was rolled egg, which kids love, and braised tofu as well.

The drink zone had a coffee machine, along with omija (schisandra berry) tea and barley tea!

There was even a soft-serve ice cream machine! 🍦 You can use it by paying 2,000 won at the kiosk, but it's free if you write a receipt review!!!

How do the seasoned mackerel and Jeju hairtail taste?

Our finished mother-daughter lunch spread✨ Two kinds of golden-grilled fish plus the sides we picked from the self-serve corner made for a wonderfully full-looking table!!

My daughter's been hitting the books hard for exam prep lately! Studying means you need to eat well too, so we came out for a family meal to lift the mood, and I'm so glad we did, hehe.

The mackerel came scored and grilled to a golden brown — the definition of crispy outside, tender inside! The plump flesh was clean-tasting and absolutely delicious!

This is basically a rice thief!!!

I deboned the fish for my daughter to eat more easily, and she got all touched, saying she wasn't crying but her eyes were welling up — she's great at expressing herself. She's the spitting image of me when it comes to reactions haha.

Spicy stir-fried pork: two plates and counting

Since we're both meat lovers, we grabbed spicy stir-fried pork from two different spots haha.

The seasoning was just right and well soaked into the meat, so we thoroughly enjoyed it. We even went back for one more refill, no shame >.<

Ate plenty of vegetables to keep it healthy, wrapping everything up neatly in lettuce 🥬

Is Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo good for a family lunch in Asan?

The staff were kind, so we could eat in good spirits, and the food was delicious, so the whole family left satisfied. My daughter said she wants to come back again haha — a revisit is probably coming soon +.+
