Pork cutlet with kimchi jjigae set lunch near Euljiro-3(sam)ga: Hunta
In short
Hunta Euljiro is a Japanese-style pork cutlet restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor of the Fastfive building near Euljiro-ip-gu Station. On a repeat visit, the loin katsu set was ordered for 14,000 won alongside the kimchi jjigae set (loin) for 15,000 won, a combo rarely found at other pork cutlet spots. The thick loin cutlet and spicy kimchi jjigae balanced each other well without feeling greasy, making it a solid lunch recommendation for office workers in Euljiro and Jongno.

I really love pork cutlet, and out of everywhere I've tried, Hunta Euljiro is number one. So good I had to come back!!! If you work around Euljiro and love pork cutlet, you have to go here!
Hunta Euljiro location, how far from Euljiro-ip-gu Station

Hunta Euljiro is on the 1st floor of the Fastfive building at 24 Namdaemun-ro 9-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul. It's close enough to walk from Euljiro-ip-gu Station, so it's a perfect spot for people working nearby to grab lunch!

I walked from Jonggak Station and it took about 10 minutes? Anyway, this is a great location for office workers around Euljiro and Jongno to eat lunch.

Inside, besides regular tables there are also seats set apart that are good for eating alone, so there's zero awkwardness for anyone dining solo!
Menu and prices — a pork cutlet restaurant with a kimchi jjigae set

They have loin, fillet, cheese katsu, chicken katsu, katsu-don, and also a kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) set that you don't see at other pork cutlet places. Having tried it, the kimchi jjigae set is genuinely amazing hahaha.

My partner ordered the loin katsu set (₩14,000), which they enjoyed on our first visit too. I got the kimchi jjigae set (loin), ₩15,000. Loin is the most basic order at any pork cutlet place, right? If the basic menu item is delicious, that's how you know a place is legit.
Loin katsu set, the reason I came back

The loin katsu is the reason I revisited Hunta Euljiro. First off, the meat isn't the thin, old-school pork cutlet style — it's a thick, Japanese-style tonkatsu.

The breading is crispy but not too thick, and the loin inside is juicy with a proper meaty bite. When it comes to loin cutlet, I prefer the kind with a little fat marbled in for savoriness over the kind that's all lean meat and dry. Hunta's loin katsu is exactly that!

At first I ate it plain, then tried a little salt! And a dash of pepper and shichimi also woke up my appetite and tasted amazing. Since the meat itself is good, I found the savoriness came through better with a bit of salt rather than drowning it in sauce.

There's a good variety of things to dip it in — wasabi, mustard, pork cutlet sauce — so you don't get bored even through one whole plate.

And the scallion kimchi here is a nice kicker too. When the cutlet starts feeling a bit greasy, one bite of scallion kimchi resets your palate completely lol.
Kimchi jjigae set (loin) — how does it pair with the cutlet?

There's one thing I personally want to tell everyone to try at Hunta Euljiro — the kimchi jjigae set.

I got mine with loin. A bite of cutlet followed by a spoonful of hot, spicy kimchi jjigae worked better than I expected! With Japanese-style pork cutlet sets you usually start feeling a bit greasy halfway through, but the kimchi jjigae completely prevents that.

The jjigae is packed with pork too, so it felt like a really substantial lunch. If you're always torn between pork cutlet or kimchi jjigae at lunchtime, just order the set here and get both lol. With cutlet, rice, and kimchi jjigae all together, I was seriously stuffed. I think the kimchi jjigae set suits Korean tastes way better than the cutlet alone.
How is it as an office lunch spot?
Hunta is right in the middle of the Euljiro office district, so naturally lunchtime demand is high. There really are good seats for solo dining as well as tables for groups, so it seemed easy to use as an office lunch spot. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Euljiro-ip-gu Station or a pork cutlet lunch for office workers, I recommend both the loin katsu set and the kimchi jjigae set.
