Sinchon hair salon full dye in darkest ash brown: Demon Hair Sinchon

In short

Demon Hair Sinchon Branch is a hair salon a 1-minute walk from Exit 1 of Sinchon Station in Seodaemun, Seoul. After a summer of fading left long hair light with red and orange tones, designer Donghan recommended a full dye in the darkest ash brown, which reads as calm as black but glows softly brown in the light. Demon Hair Sinchon is worth a look when black feels too heavy and you only want to tone down hair that has gone too light.

Long hair after the ash brown tone-down dye

Why choose Demon Hair Sinchon Branch for an ash brown tone-down dye?

With the seasons changing, I wanted to fix my hair color that had gotten too light. I hadn't toned it down all summer, so the color got really bright and picked up red and orange undertones — this time I decided to completely change the mood!

That said, I didn't want to cover it with pure black, so I went to Demon Hair Sinchon Branch (데몬헤어 신촌점) for an ash brown tone-down dye that suits the autumn mood while still looking calm. This time I had a full dye done by designer Donghan.

What is on the care menu at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch?

Looking at the menu board in the photo, besides regular hair services, there was a wide range of care programs tailored to hair and scalp condition. Scaling is divided into basic scaling, deep scaling, and premium deep scaling, and there are also separate scalp care and hair loss care options.

From pre-care like scalp stabilizing care and keratin pre-care, to wongyeol, silk, and lapogel botox recovery care you can choose based on your hair's condition — it looked like a great setup for anyone who dyes or perms often and wants ongoing care too.

Hair condition before the dye: faded, red and orange

Before the dye, my hair color had gotten pretty light. Under lighting especially, the red and orange tones stood out even more — and since it's autumn now, I wanted a slightly calmer mood.

Why the darkest ash brown instead of black?

What I wanted, though, wasn't pitch black. Once you cover it with black, it can be a hassle if you want a different color later, so after consulting with designer Donghan, I decided on the darkest tone among the ash browns.

She explained that at first it might look almost as calm as black, but as the color fades over time, the ash tones would naturally come through. I liked that I could tone it down dark right now while also thinking ahead to the color it would fade into.

Once the color was decided, the full dye began in earnest. She carefully applied the product from the roots all the way through the ends. Since my hair is long, it was important to even out the tone without patchiness, and she was meticulous even with the parts that had gotten lighter.

Before and after the tone-down dye at Demon Hair Sinchon

Once it was dyed and dried, the before-and-after difference was really clear. Before, it was a light brown mixed with red tones that looked a bit messy — after the tone-down dye, the color evened out completely and even the hair texture looked much calmer!

That said, it's not an intense pitch black — it's a dark ash brown that gives off a subtle brown glow in the light, which matched exactly what I wanted. It seems like it'll go well with autumn knits and jackets in muted tones too, so I was really satisfied with this as my autumn dye color.

After trimming my long hair a bit and darkening the tone, the lines looked even more defined. If you're looking into a layered cut at a Sinchon hair salon for long hair or a layered cut at a hair salon near Sinchon Station and want to change up the color too, I think a dark ash tone like this would pair really nicely.

Who is this dark ash brown dye best for?

If black feels like too much but you want to calm down hair that's gotten too light, I'd recommend trying the darkest ash dye like I did to change up the mood! I'm also curious to see what ash shade it fades into over time.

This autumn, I wanted to transform from bright hair into a calmer, more atmospheric color, and it came out exactly the direction I wanted — a satisfying full dye review with designer Donghan at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch!
