Sinchon hair salon ash brown root dye and protein care: Demon Hair
In short
Demon Hair Sinchon Branch is a hair salon on Sinchon-ro near Sinchon Station in Seodaemun, Seoul, focused on coloring and hair clinic treatments. To cover dark regrowth, the writer had an ash brown root dye with a protein care treatment: 89,000 won for the dye, 20,000 won for the length surcharge and 60,000 won for the protein care, 169,000 won in total. The color came out well, but the most surprising part was how bouncy the perm curls looked after the treatment.

It's been a while since my last Sinchon hair salon review ෆ My roots had grown out quite a bit and since it's fall, I wanted to freshen up my whole hair color, so I went to Demon Hair Sinchon Branch! Of course I loved the dye, but this time I also got protein care added, and I was so amazed at how bouncy my hair felt afterward! Let's get into the review 🫶🏻

Inside Demon Hair Sinchon Branch: atmosphere and wait time
Demon Hair Sinchon Branch is on the 2nd floor of Building B at 87-4 Sinchon-ro, and the interior is clean but has that cozy neighborhood salon feel, which I kind of love haha. I arrived at 3:30pm and since it was a weekday, it stayed pretty quiet, though more people started trickling in around the time I was finishing up!

Color consultation: ash brown, matte brown or milk brown?

As soon as I sat down at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch, we started the consultation on what color to dye today, and they were really thorough about it! Am I the only one who gets excited flipping through the color book at a salon? Every shade looks pretty and suddenly I want to try something new (?). This time I was seriously torn between ash brown, matte brown, and milk brown. I thought, should I really try something different this time? But the designer also recommended ash brown as the best fit for my hair. Well, I can't resist that... so I ended up going with ash brown again haha.

After picking the color, they walked me through the dye process and the protein care step by step, which I appreciated. And the moment the consultation started, they brought out coffee and snacks — such a small but nice touch ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ The view from my seat was the familiar Hyundai Department Store view that Sinchon locals know well. Sipped my coffee and got ready to really start!

How the ash brown root dye and protein care were done

This time at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch, I got a combo of ash brown dye plus protein care. First I sat down and took a before photo. I'd been trying to hold off on my root touch-up as long as possible this time, you know? But as usual, I couldn't hold out ㅠ Once roots grow out, it really does look messy. Since my overall color is a lighter brown tone, the dark roots stand out even more. My roots look even more obvious in photos... let's get this cleaned up 🥹

This time it wasn't just dye — I also got the protein care done together. They even showed me the yellow protein ingredient that goes into the dye mix~!~!

Mixed it up quickly and brushed it onto my hair, and while I waited I just went ahead and mirror-selfied (^_^) hahaha. Ash brown, please turn out pretty~~~~~~

Since I dye my hair pretty regularly, hair damage is always on my mind, and I liked that they weren't just focused on the color but on taking care of my hair condition too. Protein really matters 𖤐

Finishing care at the shampoo station
After waiting a little over an hour, I moved to the shampoo station! During the rinse, they did a separate treatment to clear out any chemical residue left from the dye, and my scalp felt so refreshingly clean — such a good feeling! They mentioned protein again during the shampoo, and I really felt like my hair was getting loaded with nourishment ෆ

What protein care changed: bouncier perm curls

What surprised me most about this Demon Hair Sinchon Branch treatment was the bounce in my hair after it was dried. I loved the ash brown color of course, but I could really feel the new spring in my hair. My hair already has a perm in it with some curl, but after the treatment the curls themselves felt so much more alive and springy. My hair had so much more body that as the curls bounced upward, it almost looked like my hair length had gotten shorter at a glance.
I sometimes worry that dyeing will leave my hair feeling a bit dry and brittle, but this time I actually felt more bounce instead, and I really loved that. They told me that doing protein care alongside the dye also helps the color last longer, so I'm looking forward to seeing how nicely this ash brown holds up haha.

From the salon straight to the baseball stadium
Honestly, right after finishing my hair that day, I was headed straight to a baseball game. While making small talk with the designer, I mentioned,
