Japanese restaurant in Jung-gu, Busan for tonkatsu curry: Daidokoro
In short
Daidokoro Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch is a Japanese home-style restaurant in Jung-gu, Busan. My mom and I shared a tonkatsu curry set, a karaage set, and wonderfully rich milk pudding after shopping. Verdict: a filling, family-friendly lunch stop after shopping.

Today, I went on a little outing to Nampo-dong with my mom 💕 We shopped at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch in Busan and had a delicious lunch too! We started getting hungry while shopping, so we headed up to the restaurant floor on the 10th level! The place we visited that day was Daidokoro Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch!

It is close to Nampo Station and inside the department store, so it was easy to find. The parking lot is spacious too, making it convenient to visit by car! I thought it would be a nice choice for anyone looking for a good lunch spot in Nampo-dong or a restaurant at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch :)
An Adorably Cute Atmosphere, Starting Outside

The exterior feels so adorably cute even from afar 🥹🤍 It is neat, but there are sweet little touches everywhere, giving it a mood that makes you happy just looking at it :)

Inside, it was clean and cute overall, so I thought kids would really love coming here too 🥰 There are charming little details everywhere, which made looking around while eating fun as well :) Best of all, they have a separate kids' menu, so it is perfect for visiting with children 🙌🏻 It seemed like a great Nampo-dong restaurant for a family meal: you can browse and shop at the department store, then come eat with the kids 🧸
Tonkatsu Curry Set and Karaage Set

There were so many delicious-looking choices that we deliberated for ages, then ordered one each to share nicely!! 🥰 Mom chose the tonkatsu curry set, and I chose the karaage set 🤍 Okay, the food is arriving~ Everything came neatly arranged on trays, so even the presentation looked tidy and cute 🍱💕

They drew a picture on the egg, and it was so cute. This is the tonkatsu curry set 💓 The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) was fried crisp, while the meat inside was tender with no unpleasant smell! The curry was not overly strong or spicy; it had a smooth, deep flavor, and of course it was such a perfect match with rice 🥰

This is the karaage set 💞 🍗 It is fried chicken! The karaage was crispy outside~ and truly moist and tender inside, getting more delicious with every bite 💗 It was nicely seasoned with a savory saltiness, so it was delicious even on its own!

The sausage and quail eggs... totally my taste 🤤 With the main dish, rice, soup, and side dishes all included, it was such a filling lunch set! It is the kind of Nampo-dong restaurant I would think of whenever I want a neat Japanese-style meal :)!!
The Much-Anticipated Milk Pudding: What a Discovery...

The milk pudding we had after the meal was unbelievably delicious!!

🥛🤍 I thought it would just be pudding, but when I tried it, oh my goodness, it was so good! It had a chewy yet thick, rich texture—somewhat like thick Greek yogurt, with a slightly bouncy texture like mochi ridofu (sesame tofu). The texture was so unique and delicious 🥹💕 It was sweet and smooth, just perfect for dessert!
They are also running a thank-you event for Naver reviews, so if you like milk pudding, be sure to get one 🤍 This is truly a must-eat!! It was smooth and nutty, yet soft and springy, and Mom and I finished it in no time saying, “This is really delicious!” 🤣💕 If you visit Daidokoro Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch, please make sure to try the milk pudding 🫢✨ I totally recommend it 🫶🏻 And if you visit, check the event details and make the most of them 📱💕
A Day of Shopping and Eating
Having gone with my mom, I found it really convenient: it is inside the department store, so it is accessible, and you can take care of both shopping and a meal in one go :) I especially want to recommend it to anyone looking for a filling lunch at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch, or a comfortable place to eat in Nampo-dong! Above all, the food was delicious without being overly strong, so I think little ones would eat it really well too 🥰 It is a nice place to visit with children, which makes me recommend it even more 💕 If you want a hearty meal in a cute, charming setting, stop by Daidokoro Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch 🤍
