Why we chose Burok Self-Studio in Anyang for our anniversary photos

Burok Self-Studio Anyang Beomgye branch is a self-photo studio in the basement of Doosan Venturedigm, not far from Pyeongchon Station. We were looking for a place to take photos for our first wedding anniversary, and Burok turned out to be famous as a self-photo studio around the Anyang Beomgye area. Lots of people visit to capture memories on their own — from baby photos to maternity shoots! We booked ahead through Naver Reservation and headed over.

Getting to Burok Self-Studio: parking and access from Pyeongchon Station

It wasn't far from the station, and since parking support is available if you drive, it was convenient. We had to bring the dress we wore for our wedding shoot, so we had quite a bit of luggage — but the studio being close to the parking lot made things easy.

Right when you walk in, there's a floor sign showing how to get around, and indoor slippers waiting right at the entrance.

What props does Burok Self-Studio have?

There were really so many props inside Burok — including a big number balloon set that we'd wondered whether we should bring ourselves! Love that we didn't need to. There's also a separate diaper changing table since so many people come to shoot with kids, which I thought was a thoughtful touch.

From stuffed animals to flower centerpieces, hats, chairs — there was such a wide range of props that we had nothing to worry about for the shoot. They also had a curling iron and hair dryer, so getting ready beforehand was no problem either.

Changing into a wedding dress in Burok's fitting room

There's also a fitting room right next to the shooting area, in case you need to change once you arrive. We'd debated whether to bring two outfits, and seeing how close the fitting room was, we realized shooting two outfits would have been totally doable!

Is a self-photo shoot hard? How Burok's shooting zone works

Since Burok is a self-photo studio, we were pretty worried about whether we'd manage to take good photos — but both the shooting zone and select zone had such friendly instructions that it really wasn't hard at all! Actually, the owner texted us the method before we even arrived, so if you read through it once beforehand, you can shoot faster and more confidently once you get there.

Right next to the camera there was a tripod set up for timelapse shots, and a mirror so you could check yourself before the photo was taken — such a nice touch! For reference, the backdrop color could also be changed — basic, beige, mocha, green, blue, pink and more — and the photos were edited to match accordingly! Genuinely convenient.

Tips for picking your 4 photos in Burok's select zone

Once the shoot was over, we moved to the select zone to pick and print our photos. Having some experience picking wedding photos, I tried to be efficient about it — but choosing just 4 was harder and more time-consuming than I expected! One tip: I'd recommend picking tournament-style. If you can't bring yourself to eliminate photos one by one, narrowing it down becomes really tough...

Is Burok Self-Studio in Anyang Beomgye worth it? Final verdict

Once you print your photos, there's a photo zone right next to it where you can display the picture you chose. Even this corner was decorated so nicely — Burok really nailed it. We'd been debating a lot about where to shoot photos around Anyang Pyeongchon, but since the backdrop color can be changed to whatever you want and there's such a wide range of props to work with, I think we'll come back to Burok for more photos or even for our second anniversary. Thanks to them, we went home with some beautiful memories.
