Bakery near Pyeongchon Station, Anyang: napjaki at Milbat Bakery
In short
Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon is a neighborhood bakery on Gwanpyeong-ro 170beon-gil, near Pyeongchon Station in Anyang, Gyeonggi. After a wedding hall tour, the writer picked up a raspberry roll slice, fresh-baked salt bread, napjaki (a flatbread with cream cheese, salami and tomato), a hot chicken croquette and a cheddar cheese cookie, and napjaki was the clear favorite. With loaves coming out of the oven all day, Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon is an easy stop for fresh, lightly sweet bread.

This is a diary I write by hand, not with AI ♡
On the way home from a wedding hall tour, I stopped by Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon (밀밭제빵소평촌)! I'd reserved through Superchart, and honestly, there were way more bread varieties than I expected~~

Is there parking at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon?
Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon doesn't have its own parking lot, so I put my hazard lights on and dashed in quickly...!! The car ahead of me did the same thing haha ^-^;;;

How wide is the bread selection?
🥖 First off, Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon really has a huge variety of bread. From salt bread to muffins, giant mammoth bread, to tiny baked snacks perfect for nibbling! There were so many kinds of bread that it was genuinely fun just browsing.

There were quite a lot of cakes too, but since it was my first visit, I focused mostly on bread. And while I was there, they kept baking more in the back, with neighborhood folks constantly coming and going — the turnover looked great 💓👍🏻 That's probably why everything on display looked fresh, like it had just come out 😆

Anyway, with so many varieties, my eyes were basically spinning lol. I grabbed a tray and started bread shopping! Here's what I picked and tried, one by one.
Raspberry roll slice — sold by the piece

🍓 Since I love fresh cream, the first thing that caught my eye was the raspberry roll slice! Honestly, buying a whole raspberry roll feels like a lot for a two-person household 🥲 So selling it by the slice, so you can just try a little, is really great 💓
Plus, the cream inside was thick and went really well with the castella-style bread wrapped around it!! The raspberries themselves weren't very sweet. Biting into raspberries scattered between layers of cream gave a subtle raspberry flavor, so it was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy ☺️ Though the bread itself was a bit dry, so it'd probably pair amazingly with milk!
Fresh-baked salt bread — on the plain side

🥐 While I was browsing, salt bread suddenly came out fresh! So cute, like little anglerfish bottoms lol — smooth, puffy, and glistening with oil, coming out tray by tray, it looked so tempting 🫢👍🏻 So I grabbed one fresh out of the oven right away~~
As soon as I got in the car, I ate the salt bread first, and it was super crispy and savory 💓 It wasn't the type packed with tons of butter inside, which can get greasy, so overall it was a pretty light, not-too-rich salt bread.
The best bread at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon: napjaki

🍅 It said napjaki (납작이, "the flat one") was the bestseller, so I tried it too. The label said it had cream cheese and tomato, but honestly, at first glance I was like 'what kind of bread even is this?' But it turned out to be the best thing I ate in the car, no lie ㅠ_ㅠ Good enough that I'd go back just for this — hands down my favorite bread!!!🧡 I wanted to show you the cross-section, but I was hungry and ate it in the car, so there are bite marks ㅎ_ㅎ
Inside there's salami handling the salty side, and cream cheese adding sweetness. On top of that there are olives, like the kind you'd find on an olive pizza, adding a fragrant note. And there are tomato slices too, so it's kind of like eating pizza, but also kind of like eating a sweet bread snack or dessert because of the cream cheese 🤭 Anyway, it was seriously the best. Next time I go, I think I'll buy like 5 of just this. The best, the best (∗❛⌄❛∗)
Runner-up: the hot chicken croquette

🌶️ I also tried the hot chicken croquette. I wondered if it was just because I was hungry, but this was also my second favorite~~ My boyfriend said it had a hint of curry flavor and might be a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but I loved it 💓 (He, who said it might be polarizing, ended up eating a ton too — we were both eyeing who'd get the last bite lol)
This would be great as an after-academy snack for students!! Despite the name 'hot chicken,' it's not super spicy — just a little kick, so very enjoyable to eat. And with croquettes, it's kind of disappointing when the filling is skimpy,,ㅜㅜ but this one had plenty of chicken packed evenly inside, which I loved. I'd definitely buy this again next time!👍🏻👍🏻
Cheddar cheese cookie, eaten the next morning

🧀 The cheddar cheese cookie didn't have a super strong cheese flavor~ There's a gooey center like melted marshmallow, and chocolate generously drizzled on top, which made it delicious. Not too sweet, so I think adults would like it too, and it'd be great as a kids' snack haha.
So which one would I buy again?

🥖 Since this was my first visit, I kept it to this much today. Overall, the bread variety was really impressive, and with baking happening continuously, everything felt wonderfully fresh 💓 True to the name Milbat ("wheat field") Bakery, it felt like they use genuinely wholesome ingredients — and after actually tasting it, I could tell: instead of that heavy additive taste, the bread had a clean, healthy flavor, which I loved even more 🥰
Among everything, my clear number one pick is napjaki! Next time I go, I think I'll seriously buy like 5 of just that lol. I'm actually moving to this area in about 2 years, and once I do, I'm going to come buy napjaki every single week (~˘▾˘)~♡ Please stay in business until then 🤍
