Pyeongchon gym in Anyang, 90-minute post-trip routine: Excel Fitness
In short
Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch is a gym in Anyang, Gyeonggi, a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Pyeongchon Station on the first basement level of Daemyung Global Biz Square. To manage the weight gained on a trip to China, the writer ran a roughly 90-minute routine at Excel Fitness: 10 minutes of stretching, then the squat machine, shoulder press, hip abduction, leg extension and back extension, finishing on the stair climber. The weight zone is separated from the cardio and stretching zone, and workout clothes and towels are provided, so coming empty-handed after work is no problem.

Today I'm writing up a gym review after a while! Yamilog here, and I came back from a trip to China looking a bit puffier haha. The food there was so good and so intense, and with the bloating on top of it, I felt like I was about to start rolling around lol.
So to reignite my motivation to work out, I visited Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch!

If you're looking into gyms or PT near Pyeongchon Station, take a look at this. 🙌🏻
Where is Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch, and where do you park?
Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch is at 7 Simindae-ro 327beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, B1 102, Daemyung Global Biz Square. It's about 371m, roughly 5 minutes on foot, from Exit 3 of Pyeongchon Station, so it was easy to find.
It's in the basement of Daemyung Global Biz Square, so once you go into the building and head down, you can find it right away haha.
If you're visiting by car, you can use the underground parking lot, and note that you get 3 hours free!
A Pyeongchon gym fully renovated in December 2025
Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch apparently had a full renewal and reopened on December 22, 2025. It's built around a premium concept, carefully selecting machines with a good sense of movement!!

They have various high-end brand machines like Panatta, Hammer Strength, Citadel, Cybex, Technogym, Prime, and Gym80. The weight area and the cardio/stretching area are separated, so it's set up nicely depending on your workout goal. The space is also divided into a free weight zone, machine zone, cable zone, cardio zone, and stretching zone! Nice nice ㅠ

It's an environment that works well whether you're a first-timer at the gym or someone who's been lifting for a long time, depending on your own routine~? They keep a comfortable temperature and air quality even in summer so you can focus on your workout, and the changing rooms and showers were nicely kept. So let me show you Yamilog's actual workout in more detail! 💪🏻
First visit: facility tour and facial recognition entry
Since it was my first visit, I got a tour of the inside of the gym right at the entrance of Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch. What caught my eye right away was that there are separate storage lockers for bags and for clothes!
Of course there are lockers inside the changing room too where you can store your stuff, but for bulky items like a long padded coat or a big bag, using the storage near the entrance seemed more convenient.

Especially in winter when your outerwear gets thicker, this kind of space actually matters haha. I tend to bring a bag and a coat and all sorts of stuff when I go work out, so I really liked this part.
And Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch uses facial recognition for entry. The recognition speed was really fast?! It was almost like an automatic door, so I could just breeze right in lol.
Weight zone separated from cardio and stretching at Excel Fitness
Looking around inside, the weight area was pretty spacious too.

There were various machines for both upper and lower body, and the cardio/stretching area was separate from the weight area. Since I usually do stretching all the way through cardio in one go, I liked that the spaces were divided like this.
It also means you don't get tangled up with people stretching while you're working out, so everyone can focus better on their own thing.
Since the gym is fairly large, water coolers were placed throughout. I counted about 3 that I noticed, so I didn't have to walk far for water while working out haha. If you drink water often during workouts, this actually matters!
Consultation desk, workout clothes and towels at Excel Fitness

There was also a separate consultation desk further inside. Staff were stationed not just at the counter but also near the equipment, so you could ask questions right away if you had any.
Sometimes when there's a machine you've never used, you just stare at it for a while and give up lol, but I liked that I could ask a staff member and they'd show me the posture or how to use it without making it awkward.

Also, 2 towels are provided per person, and if you forget your workout clothes, you can use the ones provided for free. I tried on the workout clothes myself!
The smallest size was Large, and for a 160cm woman, both the top and bottom were roomy. It was a comfortable size to work out in haha. Good to know you can use it on days you forget to pack your own gym clothes, right?
Changing room, lockers and showers
There were separate lockers in front of the men's and women's changing rooms.

They use a password lock system, which seemed convenient for storing personal items, and there was CCTV installed inside too. Of course it's still best to keep valuables on you, but it seemed fine for storing your stuff during a workout.
The changing room was kept clean and there were even showers, so it seemed easy to wash up after working out. It seemed handy for people coming straight from work or those with plans right after exercising. 😊
The 90-minute post-trip workout routine, step by step
Okay, tour of the facilities is done, so now let's get into the actual workout! Today I'll walk you through my usual routine haha.

To get the weight I'd gained on the trip back under control, I did a mix of lower and upper body work. Of course, the most important thing is adjusting to your own fitness and condition!
1. Ten minutes of stretching to warm up
Before starting, I loosened up in the stretching zone.

I usually stretch for about 10 minutes. I go slowly through ankles, knees, thighs, lower back, arms, and neck in order. I usually follow Samyak Spit's pre-workout warm-up, and by now I've basically memorized it lol.
When I stretch thoroughly before starting, my movements feel a lot smoother, so I always make sure to do it.
2. Lower body on the squat machine
After stretching, I moved to the squat machine. Here at Excel Fitness, I added 10kg on each side for a total of 20kg extra weight for squats.

I couldn't confirm the exact weight of the machine itself, but with the added weight it worked me out more than I expected. I did roughly 10–15 reps for 4 sets. I think of squats as the basics of lower body work, so I always make sure to do them at the gym.

I went slowly, feeling the burn in my glutes and thighs. Lower body work is always tough afterward but somehow satisfying lol.
3. Shoulders on the shoulder press
Next up, shoulder press!

I added 5kg on each side for 10kg extra total. I did about 10–12 reps for 4 sets. With shoulder press, I make sure not to let my trapezius take over. Arm and shoulder work is still tough for me, but I'm slowly getting used to it haha.

Sometimes while working out you get unsure if your form is right, and it was nice that Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch has staff stationed near the machines to ask. Also, laying a towel over the equipment when you're sweating is good manners, right? 🙌🏻

4. Hip abduction: 47 kg for 4 sets
Next was my favorite, hip abduction! I did the outward-direction version to work the glutes and pelvic-area muscles. I did about 47kg for 4 sets.

Hip abduction gives a surprisingly good burn, so I often include it in my lower body routine. Afterward my glutes feel achy, and every time that happens I feel like I actually got a proper workout in haha.
5. Leg extension and back extension
Next I did leg extensions too. I did about 20kg for 4 sets. I went slowly, keeping my posture careful so I felt the burn in the front of my thighs.

And back extension can't be skipped either! I held an 8kg dumbbell and engaged my back and glutes for 15 reps, 3 sets.
With back extension, keeping good form so you don't strain your lower back matters more than the weight, so I focused on the movement rather than adding weight.
Beyond this, I also add in one more upper body exercise depending on my condition that day — rows, lat pulldown, flys, rear delt work, and so on. Doing lower and upper body evenly like this, time really flies lol.
6. Finishing with stair climber intervals
After weights, I finished with cardio. Namely, the stair climber!

I usually do it as intervals.
- Start at around level 4 intensity for 5 minutes
- Then level 7–8 intensity for 2 minutes
- Back down to level 4–5 intensity for about 1 minute
- Repeat this pattern to fill at least 15 minutes total

Of course I adjust the intensity and duration depending on how I feel that day! Even a short stint on the stair climber makes you sweat a ton lol. That day too, I was dripping sweat by the end and felt like I'd really gotten my workout in.
The calories shown on the machine can vary depending on intensity and personal info, but I usually see around 200kcal displayed. Finishing with cardio really is what makes a workout feel complete. 😎
Five to six machines plus cardio in 1 hour 30 minutes
Running through about 5–6 machines plus cardio like this, my total workout time comes to roughly 1 hour 30 minutes. The order changes a bit depending on my condition or time that day, but I try to always cover stretching, weights, and cardio.
Working out at Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch was nice because I got to try a variety of machines. There's something fun about using machines different from what I usually use, and I liked that you can pick equipment based on which body part you're targeting.

When there was a machine I was using for the first time, I'd casually ask a staff member, and they'd show me the form without making it feel awkward. It's reassuring to know you can ask about anything you don't know even when working out alone haha.
How the workout at Excel Fitness Pyeongchon felt afterwards
And above all, there were a lot of people at Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch who were seriously working out. Lots of people with great physiques, lots of people working hard toward their own goals, and it ended up motivating me too.
Coming to work out and seeing other people putting in the effort somehow makes me want to try harder too lol. It was a good time to rebuild the workout motivation that had slipped after my trip.

A gym is simply a place to lose weight, but it's also a place to build healthy habits steadily. Rather than aiming to get a perfect body right away, I'm going to focus on building a habit of working out consistently. 💪🏻

If you're looking for a gym or PT near Pyeongchon Station, or if you want to work out using a variety of machines, Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch is worth checking out!

Yamilog will keep working out consistently and try to build a healthier body going forward. 🥹💗
