Italian restaurant near Seokchon Lake, Seoul: pork steak at Allegro

Ever have one of those days where you've had a leisurely walk around Songri-dan-gil and Seokchon Lake with your boyfriend and just want to set a cozy, romantic mood afterward? I think we've all been there. So I'm excited to bring you a review of a Songpa restaurant I found that I'd recommend without hesitation.

Where is Allegro, and its hours, reservations and parking

Allegro is right near Songpanaru Station on subway line 9, so it was really easy to get to by public transit. The exact address is 57-1 Olympic-ro 32-gil, 3rd floor, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It's close to hotspots like Songri-dan-gil, Seokchon Lake, Lotte World Mall, and Bangi Food Alley, so it couldn't be more convenient for planning a date route before or after your meal.

Hours are generous — noon to 11pm, Wednesday through Monday, except for the regular Tuesday closure. There's a break time from 3pm to 6pm, and last order is at 9:30pm, so keep that in mind when you visit! Since it's so popular and the atmosphere is so good, I'd strongly recommend booking ahead through Naver Reservation or Catchtable. Oh, and there's no on-site parking, but they do give detailed directions to nearby alternative parking lots, so if you're driving, definitely check your navigation before you head out!

How much is the evening jazz at Allegro?

Did you notice that the name 'Allegro' is a music term? There are little cute musical notes in the logo too, so I felt romantic before I even walked in. As a newly opened dining spot, the interior was really clean and stylish — it passed the first-impression test right away. The tables were spaced generously apart too, which made it easy to chat with my company.

But the biggest charm of this place is how different it feels by day and by night! During lunch, it's a pasta restaurant with pretty table settings in bright natural light; in the evening, it turns into an atmospheric jazz club with sweet live performances. Being able to watch a jazz show unfold right in front of you while you eat — isn't that so romantic?

The live show cover charge is ₩10,000 per person on weekdays and ₩15,000 on weekends. The first set runs at 19:30 and the second at 20:40, so if it's a special anniversary or you feel like sipping a glass of wine, be sure to book around the show times!

What's on the menu at Allegro?

Allegro isn't your average casual restaurant selling just one or two kinds of pasta. They have a really diverse lineup — white wine steamed clams, sous-vide pork neck steak, chewy gnocchi, salmon steak, and more. With such a wide range of menu choices, this place would work just as well for a date as it would for bringing your parents or gathering a group of friends — everyone could find something satisfying.

We were in the mood for something hearty and meaty that day, so we ordered the signature sous-vide pork neck steak and an amatriciana pasta to cut through the richness of the meat.

First up was the sous-vide pork neck steak! Thanks to the sous-vide cooking method, the meat had zero dryness — it was so juicy it melted in my mouth. The soft peppercorn sauce generously drizzled over the steak was an absolute stroke of genius. It wasn't overpowering, but its subtle flavor paired incredibly well with the meat — I ended up scraping up every last bit of sauce. The fries served generously on the side were also nutty and delicious, the kind of side dish you can't stop reaching for. 🍟

Amatriciana, Allegro's tangy tomato pasta

The amatriciana tomato pasta we chose to go with the steak was also an excellent choice. We picked a slightly spicy and tangy base to balance out the richness of the steak, and the balance was really spot on. The sauce's savory depth really came through, and thanks to the careful plating, it was a treat for both the eyes and the mouth. The friendly owner looked after us so attentively throughout the meal that we really felt well taken care of.

Why I'd go back to Allegro in Songpa

Great food, beautiful plating, a clean atmosphere, and friendly service — nothing was missing, and it was such a satisfying meal. Next time, I definitely want to come late in the evening and unwind while watching the live jazz show.
