Seochon outing with my senior from school! We decided to grab a quick lunch before picking up bagels — visited Wine Stein Seochon, a Gyeongbokgung brunch café that apparently turns into a Seochon wine bar at night!
Where is Wine Stein Seochon, and how far is it from Gyeongbokgung Station?
Wine Stein Seochon is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 or Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station! It's located at the end of Sejongmaeul Food Street, where all the Seochon restaurants are packed together!
The 1st floor is an eel restaurant, and you head up to the 3rd floor! Honestly, up until this point I was thinking, how special can brunch really be?
Turns out both the brunch and the Seochon vibes were maxed out!

I couldn't tell from outside the building, but the interior was really spacious and comfortable! Even the in-store bathroom was spotless! And most of all, the view was amazing!
This Seochon wine bar isn't just about the wine — the place is also stuffed with adorable little props! There was a glass paperweight I really wanted! Should've bought it! (Regret of a serial 'I should've' person.)
What comes in the brunch sets, and how much are they?
Wine Stein Seochon can be used as a café during the day too! Since wine is the main thing here, I figured the café menu would be pretty limited — total misconception on my part!
Looking at the menu, there were plenty of brunch options as well as a good variety of coffee and desserts!

- C set: salad + pasta + mushroom soup

We ordered the brunch A set and C set respectively! Includes a drink (or americano), ₩16,500!
By the way, adding ₩4,000 to a brunch set lets you upgrade the drink to a glass of wine! Wine Stein's café menu is only available until 5 PM! After that it operates as a wine bar!
How do all the desserts look this good?! I can't resist anything sweet! They all look amazing! You can even try the trendy pizza-seolgi (pizza-topped rice cake) here at Seochon wine bar Wine Stein! (Probably perfect as a wine snack, no?)

Our brunch sets came out! All the window seats were taken by other guests, so we sat at the table right in the center of the store — and the photos turned out great!
My senior is hardcore Coke — won't even touch zero-sugar, always the original! I was going to get an iced americano, but switched to a glass of white wine instead (+₩4,000)!
A set menu with a croissant sandwich and pasta! If you're looking for a Gyeongbokgung brunch café, Wine Stein Seochon is such a great choice!
I went with the mushroom soup and pasta combo! It came with a bit of salad too! I would've totally regretted it if I hadn't ordered the wine!
Mushroom soup, salad, pasta! Tasting each dish, it reminded me of a brunch I had while traveling in Belgium once — I was so happy!
And no matter what angle you shoot from, it's got that dreamy home-café aesthetic! Click click! Maybe it's because the sky was unusually pretty that day, but everything felt extra nice!
Great atmosphere, great food! Next time I'd love to try the coffee too — or come in the evening and use it as a wine bar, which sounds really nice too!
How the mushroom soup and croissant sandwich taste
I'd also recommend the croissant sandwich with mushroom soup combo! The mushroom soup is so thick and rich, I kept gasping with every spoonful!
We polished off the salad with the wine too — the lapé (grated vegetable slaw) was a real standout! The white wine had a sweet aroma with just the right amount of acidity, exactly my taste!
Chatting away over brunch with my friend, we talked about how getting to spend our middle school days (Deoksung Girls' Middle School forever) in this neighborhood was honestly a huge stroke of luck — or maybe just a big slice of happiness we only realize now that we're older. Saved the rest of the chat for round two!
