Nowon board game café Nintendo room: It Takes Two at Hero Board Game
In short
Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch is a board game café on the 3rd floor, a 1–2 minute walk from Nowon Station Exit 9 in Nowon, Seoul, with about 350 board games plus Nintendo, PlayStation and old-school arcade machines. A visit with an elementary school child meant co-op play of It Takes Two in the Nintendo room, a round of Bubble Bobble on the arcade machine, iced tea and fries over a little more than 3 hours. Board game cafés with a Nintendo are surprisingly rare, which makes Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch worth the trip.

Went to Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch with my elementary schooler after a while away. About 350 different board games, plus Nintendo and PlayStation, retro arcade machines that brought back memories, murder mystery and puzzle events — and on top of that, tasty snacks! Both kids and adults can lose track of time here. It's a Nowon activity worth checking out.

What board games does the Nowon café have?

Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch has games on display for a wide range of ages.

From strategy games and psychological games to memory games and deduction games — this place works whether you're brand new to board game cafés or a total veteran.

Even on a first visit, you can get a full rundown of popular games and recommendations by group size using a tablet, and staff check your headcount and whether it's your first visit right at the entrance and explain everything kindly, so don't worry — just come and have fun.
If you're coming with kids, I recommend Skewer Master ♡ It's simple and easy but full of tense, chewy tension. Dopamine hits 🎉

Seating options and the Nintendo room
Seating ranges from group tables to floor seating to regular table seating, matched to your group size — if you have a preference, just ask staff and they'll seat you accordingly.
Since we planned to play Nintendo, we were seated in the Nintendo room. A board game café with Nintendo — that's Hero Board Game Cafe!

✔️ The PlayStation zone and arcade machines are also free to use. Had a fun round of Bubble Bobble ~

Playing It Takes Two co-op with an elementary school child
You leave your ID or a card to borrow the Nintendo game cartridge. Kids love It Takes Two — it's a co-op game where you really need to be in sync with your partner.

Kids happily gaming away 💛 blowing off steam for the day ~~ There are lots of board game cafés out there, but surprisingly many don't have Nintendo, which is exactly why we make a point of coming to Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch.

Drinks and snacks: iced tea and fries
Ordered drinks and snacks for the kids — done! There's also highball for the adults.

We played games, sipped cool sweet iced tea, munched warm crispy fries, and ended up staying a bit over 3 hours. Felt like a single hour flew by.

Game return counter and restrooms
Games, snacks, and cups all go back to the return counter. The restroom is right on the same floor, which was really convenient. Soap, hand sanitizer, and tissue were all stocked, and it was clean 👍
