Cheongna Mexican restaurant with free unlimited parking: Taco Dot

I went looking for Cheongna tacos and ended up at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch. Craving Mexican food, two of us visited on a weekday around 2pm for lunch and ordered the signature fajita platter plus one drink haha.

Eating a finished dish like a taco is great too, but what drew me in was being able to pile meat, shrimp, and vegetables onto a tortilla myself and build whatever combo I wanted.

When the fajita platter arrived, it was so generous it filled up the whole table — impressive from the first look.

Taco Dot Cheongna Branch sits on the first floor of a building, so it wasn't hard to find even on a first visit.

The entrance already had a casual Mexican restaurant feel, and visiting during a late weekday lunch meant we could walk in fairly comfortably. A good spot in Cheongna when you want a lunch that's different from usual.

Parking: free, no time limit, 6 spaces out front

Parking at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch is free with no time limit, and there are 6 spots in front of the store. We drove that day, and having free parking was convenient. Without the pressure to rush through the meal, it was also nice for slowly wrapping fajitas.

Since most people get around Cheongna by car, whether parking is convenient matters — and not having to watch the clock during the meal was a plus. There are 6 spots in front of the store, but they were already full, so we parked briefly in front of another car before heading in.

Inside Taco Dot at 2pm on a weekday

Walking inside, wood-toned tables and clean seating caught my eye first. The interior was bigger than expected, and the tables weren't cramped together.

Even with the fajita platter spread out for two, the table had plenty of room, and there were also seats for larger groups. It looked like a place that would work for everything from lunch to dates to casual get-togethers.

It seemed like it would get busy even at lunch until 2pm, so I deliberately came a little later, during a quieter stretch.

Ordering the fajita platter and a drink

What we ordered that day was the fajita platter and one drink.

The fajita platter came piled high with meat, shrimp, grilled vegetables, fried rice, and more, all on one generous plate.

Even though we ordered just one dish, there were so many combinations to try that it worked well for two people sharing. Depending on which ingredients went into the tortilla, the flavor changed, so we never got tired of it all the way to the end.

Building your own tortilla wrap at the table

Laying meat on a warm tortilla and adding vegetables and sauce brought together the savory meat flavor with the vegetables' fresh brightness.

Adding a bit more sauce on the meat deepened the flavor, and adding shrimp brought a springy texture for a whole different bite.

The sauce also wasn't overpoweringly one-note, so it worked well combined with both meat and vegetables together.

Swapping between the shrimp and the meat

After loading up generously on meat for one bite, I tried wrapping with a higher ratio of shrimp and vegetables.

Even using the same tortilla, the flavor and texture changed clearly depending on what went inside. Adding onion and vegetables lightened the heaviness of the meat, and adding shrimp brought in a springy texture too.

There was also the fun of the two of us each picking our favorite ingredients and building our own combos.

Adding fried rice for a heartier wrap

The fried rice that came with the fajita platter — rather than eating it separately, we tried tucking a little into the tortilla. With meat, vegetables, and rice all together, one bite became a lot more filling.

We started off meat-focused, then mixed in fried rice or shrimp partway through, so we never got tired of it all the way to the end. It was nice being able to try so many different combinations from one platter without ordering multiple separate dishes.

We also ordered a drink to go with the fajitas. After a few tortillas loaded with meat and sauce, a cold drink cut the richness and made it easy to go back for another combination.

Even though one fajita platter already included meat, shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice, it still felt quite filling as a lunch for two people.

Is the Cheongna fajita platter worth it?

We came looking for Cheongna tacos, but on this visit, the fajita platter alone let us enjoy a wide range of Mexican flavors.

From meat to shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice, being able to wrap the tortilla however we liked meant that even two people with different tastes could each build the combo they wanted.

Not having to worry about the parking clock let us have a relaxed weekday lunch at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch.

Final verdict

One fajita platter came packed with meat, shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice, making it great for two people to share. There's fun in combining whatever ingredients you like into the tortilla yourself, and the easy parking made this a good spot to visit whenever I'm craving Mexican food in Cheongna. The service was also really friendly, and the food was tasty and generously portioned for the price, plenty for two people — that part alone would leave you satisfied on a visit haha.
