Branch-only spicy garlic boneless chicken in Seocho: Kkanbu Chicken

Today I'm introducing "Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch"! I got off work early ahead of Chuseok and rushed over for a quick chimaek (chicken and beer) session. I used to visit this branch sometimes, and it turns out it's been newly renewed — even better for chimaek now. It's become a total Nambu Terminal must-visit patio chicken spot, haha.

What changed when the branch moved and reopened

Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch moved to the side of the building for its renewal. When I visited before, the store sat right against a big main road, so passing car noise made it a bit chaotic. Visiting again after a while, I found it neatly renewed and relocated!

The interior is also much quieter and more pleasant now, making conversation so much easier, and the decor feels a level cleaner too — I was very satisfied.

And here's the thing — they now have patio seating that's just perfect for this kind of weather! Doing chimaek while catching the cool evening breeze sounded amazing. Totally recommend it if you're near Nambu Terminal looking for a great-atmosphere patio spot!!

The restroom is also located inside!! (For those of us who need a comfortable restroom to feel truly at ease… ★)

Ordering the garlic chicken you can only get at this branch

What I ordered that day at Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch was the 'spicy garlic hand-made' boneless chicken plus two icy draft beers. Whenever I come to Kkanbu, I usually go for the crispy curry or crispy chicken, but that day I was craving garlic chicken. Looking through the menu, there was garlic soy chicken, and then there was this spicy garlic hand-made chicken available only at the Nambu Terminal branch! Since I heard it's not at other branches, I ordered it right away (only at the Nambu Terminal branch).

They also have a good variety of draft beer brands, plus a set menu of 4 beers with dried snacks — looks great for company dinners or group gatherings!! (Indeed, this place gets a lot of group customers)

After ordering, they bring out the basic side dishes: popcorn snack and pickled radish.

The draft beer came first. Just like the name says, icy slush floating on top!!~~

Spicy hand-made garlic chicken, 24,000 won: how does it taste?

Spicy garlic hand-made chicken (₩24,000). It came out pretty quickly since I hadn't ordered long ago (fast food service is the best~~).

Since it was my first time trying this chicken, the look was unfamiliar and I was curious how it'd taste — crispy fried, slightly spicy chicken topped generously with a pungent special hand-made garlic sauce!! It kind of reminded me of the garlic sauce on garlic jokbal (pig's trotters)~?

While Kkanbu's original garlic chicken leans slightly sweet with a soy-sauce base, the spicy garlic chicken at the Nambu Terminal branch has no sweetness — it's spicy and pungent instead! Without the sweetness or greasiness, it actually tastes clean and delicious (and above all, the combo with the draft beer is insane!!).

Since it's boneless, it's also easy to eat neatly!! I was worried since it's a new menu item, but it ended up even tastier than the original garlic chicken — I was very satisfied haha.

Free draft beer for a receipt review

It happened that writing a receipt review gets you a free icy draft beer, so I had the extra glass free after leaving a review, haha (everyone should write a review and add on a beer).

I can't drink much beer usually, but the combo was so good that I finished the extra draft beer and cleaned up the rest of the chicken too, haha.

Is Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal worth a visit?

Visiting Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch after a while, the store is much more pleasant now and perfect for enjoying the patio!! Highly recommend for group gatherings, chimaek, or patio dining!! (Especially recommend the spicy garlic chicken plus icy draft beer combo, only found at the Nambu Terminal branch.)
