The weather's gotten so nice lately! Still a little hot at midday, but evenings are cool enough that eating outside feels perfect, so this time I went out for outdoor chimaek (chicken and beer) with my dog Kkakkung.

We visited Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch. It's right in front of Exit 1 of Nambu Terminal Station, so super easy to find! It's also close to the Seoul Arts Center, making it a good spot for a meal or chimaek before or after a show. So this place works well whether you're searching for a Nambu Terminal restaurant or a Seoul Arts Center restaurant.

A 12-year-old neighborhood chicken shop with a café-like interior

Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch has reportedly stayed in this same spot for 12 years. Maybe that's why it feels like the kind of place locals keep coming back to! The interior isn't the loud, bustling chicken-shop vibe — it's decorated more like a cozy café, so it looked like a nice place to chat comfortably with friends over a meal.

But this time we skipped indoors for what a nice-weather day is really for: outdoor chicken! These days really do call for eating outside, haha.

Outdoor terrace seating is my favorite thing lately, haha. When the weather's cool and you sit outside with chicken and a draft beer, it almost feels like being on a trip.

Kkakkung came along this time too, and since there was outdoor seating, we could eat comfortably. When you're eating out with a dog, outdoor seats are often more relaxed than indoor ones, and with the nice weather that day, it was just right.

When we went, it was dinnertime, so there were quite a few groups there for work dinners too. Being right in front of Nambu Terminal, it seems like a popular gathering spot for office workers after hours — every table had a pretty lively atmosphere.

It felt like a waste to eat just chicken, so we also ordered the crunchy rice hot dog (crispy on the outside, chewy inside). It was a nice pairing alongside the chicken. If you're visiting with a group, ordering one side dish per chicken order seems like a good idea.

Half fried, half garlic soy chicken — how does it taste?

We ordered the half fried + half garlic soy chicken. Whenever I get chicken, ordering just one flavor feels like a waste, so I love getting halves. The fried half was crispy on the outside and warm, great for enjoying classic chicken flavor,

and the garlic soy chicken had a soy sauce base with garlic aroma layered in — salty and sweet at once! Switching between the two kept things feeling fresh with every bite. Especially eating outdoors with the chicken smell wafting around, it was exactly the kind of combo that makes you crave a draft beer.

Can't skip the draft beer! With the evening air this cool these days, sipping a chilled draft beer outside felt like it washed away a whole day's fatigue. A bite of crispy fried chicken, a sip of beer, a piece of garlic soy chicken, another sip... haha. This is exactly why you can't give up chimaek.

Especially with the weather this cool these days, outdoor terrace chicken is really appealing! It was also a nice place to relax and enjoy an evening with my dog, like we did.
